Fleetwood

Well the game is almost with us. An absolute “must win” for the cods - anything else I think will be fine for us.

The team have been fantastic all season and there is no reason why we shouldn’t do the business tomorrow - so fingers crossed and lets enjoy the day!!

Looking at the main stand from the opposite side of the pitch which end are we to be herded into please? Left or right? We do not wish to offend! Cheers.

The Right

I hope you win. I think you deserve to go up this season. More than Fleetwood anyway

Thanks Tom all support appreciated, and good luck for your fight at the bottom

Match Pointers
IF Albion avoid defeat they are almost certain to win the title.

Jim Vince’s men have won all but one match in the league at Wincham Park so far this season, leaving Fleetwood under no illusion as to the size of their task.

“It’s a huge game for both clubs,” said the Witton boss.

"I expect them to come here and make it difficult for us.

“They perhaps don’t play the same style of football as Gateshead, nor do they have as many skilful players, but they are a more physical team and we’ll have to be ready to combat that.”

He will be without Rod Thornley in attack as the former Altrincham front runner is due to meet up with the England team ahead of their friendly with France in midweek. Adam Warlow, who missed the Good Friday win at Marine with a slight knock, should return to the starting line up. Mark Peers, another rested from the start at the Arriva Stadium, should also return.

He could replace Rob Lloyd after the midfielder limped off against the Mariners with an ankle injury.

Opponents Fleetwood lost twice at Wincham Park last season in league and cup.

They eased past Prescot on Good Friday to keep the gap to the top at 11 points.

Manager Tony Greenwood has been full of admiration for Albion this week.

“A lot of people have said you’re unlucky, in every other year you would have been sure to go up’ but I don’t see it that way,” he said.

“Witton have deserved what they have achieved - they have played with great consistency and have a great home record.”

He knows only a victory will keep his team’s title hopes alive. They have three games in hand on the leaders so could overtake them if they cut the gap to eight points tomorrow.

1:00pm today

Didnt know Rod would be away. Thats not good news!

A few of us are travelling up from Fleetwood following each other in 3 cars, we hope to arrive by 12.30ish. Could anyone tell me what time the clubhouse opens?

Turnstiles are open from 1:00 pm, I assume the club will be open from then as well. However, the arrangements are that Fleetwood supporters will not have access to the club prior to the game. Sad, but I was standing behind the goal in the game against Gateshead, and the vermin that turned up that day were trying their best to goad others into fighting, no doubt so that they could say they didn’t start it. It was only because of the extreme patience shown by both Witton and Gateshead supporters that there were no serious incidents. So as I say, sad, the many decent supporters of Fleetwood who will be travelling down have to suffer because of the behaviour of the garbage that purported to support them, but I feel that in the circumstances the arrangements are justified.

Is everyone ready for tommorow? lets hear every single one of us, behind goals at the sides in the seats…We WILL win the league we WILL win tommorow loud and proud E I E I E I O

Sure am Drew.

Lets hear ya then!!!
