Flicking Football returns to Witton

Following the success of last year?s competition, Witton Albion FC is hosting an English Table Football Association event on the 3rd December. The high standard set by last year?s initial event has attracted an increase attendance of some 32 competitors, including a number of senior and junior internationals.

However it?s the atmosphere that is the big attraction. Tournament organiser, Andy Murray states ?with Witton actually playing a game as well, plus the trophies being presented in front of their fans in the bar after their game, we are expecting an exciting day?.

Tournament is being organised by the newly formed Cheshire Corinthians who normally play near Stockport, however, as club secretary Pete Motley explains ?Everyone was so impressed with Witton Albion last year, Graham Edgeley is very helpful and the club so welcoming, we were more than happy to return?.

?Today?s youth can get too carried away with computers and it is refreshing to see the young and not so young enjoying a traditional game once more,? says Graham.

The winners and finalists not only get trophies but also get ranking points that contribute to a players position in the league. Which all bodes well for Witton Albion FC becoming a permanent fixture in the table football world, as well as in the real game.
