Sorry if any mods/admins disapprove of this post but we’re only trying to make it as forum so i don’t see any harm.
We want to become one of the biggest football forums out there and we need your help to do so, just signing up would help us significantly.
We are a friendly bunch and the staff doesn’t jump down your throat if you do something wrong! The one thing we are looking forward to is the prediction league where the final winner of the prediction league will win £100! (not bad for a few predictions eh?)
Lost 1-0 today, the goal coming about 12 minutes from the end. With a few exceptions, we started with a reasonably strong line-up although I’m not too sure how close to the team that starts the season it was.
Starting X1:
Matt Cooper, Anthony Gardner, Steve Connors, Ben Harrison, Marc Joseph, Olly James, Trialist, Nicky Platt, Kyle Wilson, Neville Thompson, Danny Andrews.
Subs: Steve Foster, Anthony Sheehan, Michael Powell, Trialist, Stuart Plant, Trialist, Trialist.
As Hednesford are now in the league above we must assume they have improved their squad from last season when they gained promotion so the result may not be as bad as it seems. However I would like to see Wincham Park become a place where teams fear to come and make our home record, which I think I am right in saying has never been as good as several other teams at our level, much better. We need to make Wincham Park a “FORTRESS” that no one can take.

The easiest and best way to make your home stadium a fortress, is to get your supporters to come watch and not stay away from the games and fill the stands, there’s an idea?
If that last comment was aimed at me jonny, may I just point out I have done the gate for two friendlies and been a supporter for over 65 years, I think I have “Filled the Stand” a few more times than you.

At home last season we lost as many as Fc united. In fact the only teams who lost less at home were the two promoted teams, Buxton and Ilkeston
Away from home only the two promoted teams and FC lost less than us.
As Chad said yesterday he remembers a season where we won every pre season game and got relegated, and a season where we lost every pre season game and finished 3rd!!
I thought yesterday’s game was a spikey affair where every Witton player was committed and had clearly responded to the words from the management team. Hednesford were equally as committed leading to a match that I can only liken to a cup tie.
I think if we play like we did in the first half this coming season we’ll be ok.
[quote=“WHS” post=50973]Pre season is to get fit and see if any news faces are up to it, nothing more, though if you win the games it must help confidence.

I asked that question because in that game we were up against top quality players which would give our Manager no real chance to assess whether trialist were up to the league we are in and going by what happened I think that proved right, we were so on the defensive in the second half that no one got the chance to play. That said it could have been useful in getting our tried and trusted players fit. (You know Robbo you realy must get a life, you seem to spend a hell of a lot of time studying my posts).

I missed the match so carn’t comment upon how it went but one theme that has seemed to emerge during the friendlys seems to be a lack of goals. Bring on the tucker man!!! SBL
I have to state caregorically that Robbo and I are not in love, never have been and never will be and reports that we are will be dealt with by our lawyers. As for me spouting rubbish I of course disagree and think my ideas and thoughts are correct and always worth reading!!! You lot need a “Humour Transplant” you take every word on here so seriously, it is a football forum where people who have no idea about the game pretend to be knolwedgeable and intelligent about the game and I am amongst that number and so are you.
