Witton Albion are very sad to report that one of our supporters Fred Hornby, has sadly passed away at the age of 87, following a long illness.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Fred’s family and friends.

A true gentleman. I had the pleasure of taking Fred to Curzon Ashton for the play-off Final & he said it was one of the finest footballing days of his life, and he’d seen a few. RIP Fred.

Fred’s ashes were spread on the Wincham Park centre circle yesterday by his immediate family. I am sure he would have been very pleased, it was lovely to meet his daughter Ruth and family. RIP Fred UTA
