Yes in truth the closest Frickley came was a header off the bar that was offside. We didn’t create much but we aren’t going to steam roller all the teams are we.
The pitch was very uneven, it was pretty windy and the players probably a little worried for their saftey after a chest high studs up tackle on Coo received, just a mere talking too. If Peers was watching I’m sure he’d have had something to say as well. so yes we won but to show consistancy I’m still going to say I thought the conditions were poor (expected no different though) and the officials weak.
We did the job though and its another 3 points and the present run off form is exceptional. Interestingly fleetwood have a free Saturday on 29th December, so IF we can pick up somethign against Buxton we could go further ahead of them.
All the best to everyone - lets hope 2008 is THE year.
Thought we were really good first half, controlled the game, moved the ball well (on an awful surface), and scored a well taken goal. Second half we sat back a bit and let them attack but always looked comfortable. Kennedy. Pritch and Barras were immense at the back, and Warlow was absolutely outstanding.
Think Frickley might need to check the fair play league, kung fu kicks and reckless lunges don’t win you games! I do wonder why some refs aren’t stronger in this league though, a few bookings for teams like Frickley would surely stop the constant attempts to injure the opposition[br]Posted on: December 24, 2007, 08:40:11 AM
http://nonleaguezone.com/viewtopic.php?t=47198&sid=dcca11c3c6e0a2f10aba7839098d706b
Not convincing?! Fantastic, can’t wait until we are convincing!!!
Excellent hospitality in the Barnsley Oak sorry (Not the Barnsley Chop)on the outskirts of Beirut!! Have to agree Frickley is not the greatest place to go but lets hope they pick up and beat a few of our rivals. On the game I did’nt think we played that well but then when you think as someone said Peers, Lloyd, Brown out it brings it into perspective. Like everyone else thought Kyle had a great game until he ran out of steam a bit towards the end.I thought Jon, Tony and Pritch were immense at the back, and Warlow ran his socks off. Wood showed that he can pass a ball and I thought he did well too.
Notice that Ashton got a draw at Gateshead Saturday so hope Nige can get the lads prepared ok for this game which looks like it’s not going to be easy. They are all cup finals now as everyone wants to beat us so we’ve all got to keep up our workrate and I mean players and our fans with their support.
Happy Christmas to ALL Albion Fans see you Boxing Day!!
