Frickley Athletic vs Witton Albion.

Delighted with todays win, nicely moving up the league now and 3 home games in a row coming up could really push us to safety
In Sully we trust UTA

Attendance: 185.

What a result that is!!! made my weekend! Credit where it’s due today we all know Frickley is a hell hole to go and get 3 points from, and we started with Danny Andrews right wing back which wasnt working so Sully changed it round and he scored twice, the team were slated with boos after the Belper game (me included) so when we get a result like today I have to congratulate the effort, made up for Sully it can’t be easy in his position these last few weeks, 3 more wins UTA

Made my weekend too, chuffed to bits with this result. Didn’t go today but sounds like it was a bit of a nail biter, fair play to Sully for getting the lads heads up after last weeks woeful performance and for coming from a goal behind. We’re now on a good run, something like 11 points from the last fifteen?? Paramount we keep it going though.

UTA. In Sully we trust.

Just got in to see this, what a terrific result and valuable three points gained very very well dine to all concerned!! :clap

Belper drew with Skelmersdale today, they have improved somewhat of late, so maybe last week’s result was not quite as bad as it appeared.

Ha Ha Danny Andrews at wing back, thank god it was changed, your best player, top scorer and most creative player in defence ! Tactics gone mad anyway it all worked out well in the end and glad to see Titch back scoring that has to help us greatly. UTA

Well done MASSIVE Result ! Not out of the woods yet but any win away from home at this stage is excellent. That was a 6 pointer today - Always nice to beat Frickley aswell

Well done Sully, looks like we’ve got some spirit about us at the moment.

Anyone still in favour of sacking Mr Sullivan and getting rid of Mark Harris?
WHS.

It was nice to see a referee prepared to consult his linesmen before making a big decision, and the linesmen prepared to help the referee make the right decision today.

For their sending off, the referee gave a free kick, but after consulting the linesman who was quite closer to the incident, he sent their player off for spitting. That helped us go in at half time with a 2-1 lead.

Early in the 2nd half, they had a player brought down in the box, when he was through on goal. From the other end, it looked as if this was the referee’s chance to even up the game, by sending John Shaw off, and awarding a penalty. However, once again he consulted his linesman, who convinced him that he was not the last player, so the discipline was only a yellow card. My man of the match, Andy Robertson, saved the penalty kick, so we were still 2-1 up with a player advantage, when it could easily have been 2-2 with 10 versus 10.

Nice to be able to praise the officials when they have a good game!

WHS,yes i am one result does’nt make a season

I don’t think the charming Frickley fans saw it that way but you are right.

Well he’s done well to nick 2 goals from defense then!!

Come on CJ, you know from watching Liverpool that being a wide player in a 3 5 2 isn’t a defensive position. I’ve seen Markovic, Lallana, Henderson, and Sterling play there this season - all offensive creative players. United play Ashley Young there - a creative attack-minded player.

Absolutely no need for this constant manager-bashing, especially when he’s just got a win at somewhere we rarely come away with maximum points from.

Everyone was quick to say how poor we were v Belper, so Sully quite rightly tried changing things around a bit to try and get Danny more involved (which sees him score 2 goals) and he still gets panned. Forum posts gone mad!!

That win will hopefully be huge for confidence going into a 7 day period where we could pick up some points at home. 7 games unbeaten now including the 1874 game - the longest run this season, and possibly longer than any unbeaten run last season too…?

Great achievement at this time of the season, and if we’re still unbeaten this time next week then i think we will all be very happy.

Agree with PostyRed in that one result doesn’t make a season (although its actually 7 consecutive results now), but Sully will be judged on where we finish after 46 games.

Hi Robbo I wasn’t manager bashing ! A previous Poster ( JohnAmery ) said he started at wing backs but Sully moved him when it wasn’t working and he scored two goals , so as I see it no issue, Sully tried something didn’t work changed it and result, if you see that as manager bashing then there was no intent from me to do so hope that clears that up.

ps the fact Liverpool or premier league clubs can do it is because they have a large talented squad full of goals and flair and can therefore replace a Stirling or Henderson with a Lallana or a Gerrard not sure we are quite there yet !

If i was Sully reading ‘tactics gone mad’ i might take that as a personal insult!

Danny was moved in the second half, after he had scored his goals.

Well if he gets upset at that he is in the wrong job, and my response was to Johnys post as posted and I took it as fact why wouldn’t I, and I was not manager bashing by intention in my post, this is a forum for fans and opinions you know, maybe the manager wants to stop reading on here if he’s that sensitive.

Always best to get confirmation before taking something as fact CJ.

My opinion is that you’re constantly looking for excuses to get on the manager’s back, and that you did exactly the same with Pritch last year.

You keep asking for more information to be made public, yet when the manager offered you the opportunity to speak one-to-one you declined that offer.

What i don’t understand is that the criticism for the manager has intensified over the last few weeks, whilst results on the pitch have been better than at any other time under his stewardship.

We currently sit 6th in the form table over the last 6 games. Surely that is something to applaud the team and manager for?

And this has been achieved mostly without a player that we apparently can’t afford to be without…

Quite right this is a supporter forum for opinions, and not everybody agree, nor will everybody have opinions that have any factual basis. But as supporters we absolutely should be considering what damage our negativity can cause when players and managers do read these pages.

I see Jose Mourinho is getting upset at things that have been written about him recently. Clearly he’s in the wrong job,

Not sure where the change of Danny was after he scored two goals? Sure it was 20 minutes my friend Simmo  backs me up https://twitter.com/simmo_on_sport/status/576764946823966720

Roll on Tuesday

Don’t believe everything the press report Jonny
