Witton go in search of their first league win since early December when they travel to struggling Gainsborough Trinity in a Northern Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon. The Lincolnshire club have found it difficult this season following their sixth place finish at the end of last season, missing out on the play offs by a single point. A number of players departed and new arrivals have come in with the appointment of former football league player, Curtis Woodhouse as manager after leaving Tadcaster Albion. Since Woodhouse’ arrival, their form has shown an improvement and they are now unbeaten in five games with two wins and three draws. Coincidentally, Trinity’s last league defeat was back in early December on the same day that Albion last tasted victory. Witton also have the opportunity to complete the double over their opponents following their success at Wincham Park earlier in the season, courtesy of Liam Goulding’s goal and they will be looking to put the disappointing run of defeats behind them. Gainsborough will as always, provide a difficult test despite the lowly position and Witton will need to be on top of their game to bring home the right result. Kick off at The Gainsborough Martin & Co Arena is 3pm.
