Gerrard: is he bad for Liverpool?

Gerrard showed loyalty - something missing in footballers today unlike fatboy Rooney ( once a blue always a red~) We shall see what the future brings my friend, you will suffer badly when fergie goes and it will be soon, he does not look well old whisky nose

Loyalty is commendable I agree but I’m sure it will be a regret when looking back over his career that he stayed.

And I’m no Utd follower either

Bit Picky! I am an lod man after all!!

Loyalty? I wonder if Sir Tom Finney regretted staying at Preston? Winning trophies cannot compete with the love supporters have for loyal players, hence why we love Pritch so much, I wonder if he regrets staying at Witton? I somehow doubt it.

Loyalty isn’t part of the modern game and thats a fact, a sad one but nevertheless a true one.

True in most cases but there are many exceptions like Gerrard, Carragher, Scholes Giggs, King, Le Tissier, and of course Alan Shearer who once he had the chance joined is home town club rather than play for United.
Personally it is this lack of loyalty that puts me off watching the Premier League, it is full of mercenary foreigners only here for the cash. Nothing against foreigners per say except when they kiss the badge then clear off once they get a better offer.

Probably the only criteria under which Gerrard and Scholes can be mentioned in the same breath :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t agree; Gerrard was unlucky not to be part of the great Liverpool teams of the 80’s whilst Scholes has played in the era of great United teams. Gerrard has been the instigator of many great victories for Liverpool, the European Cup Final and of course the wonder goal against WHU that set up that win too. Scholes is good but I would place Gerrard higher, don’t forget Fergie tried to buy him a few seasons ago as a replacement for Scholes.
