Glossop North End v. Witton Albion

Admission Prices confirmed as follows:

Adults: £10, Concessions: £6, Under 16’s: £2.

Witton look to extend their unbeaten run to eight games when they travel to Glossop North End on Saturday afternoon in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

Managed by former Albion midfielder Stuart Mellish, who also had managerial experience at Warrington Town, Glossop currently sit seventeenth in the table and are without a league win since late October when they beat 1874 Northwich 2-0.

They managed to halt a run of four successive defeats on Monday, picking up a point in a 2-2 draw at Trafford.

Witton go to the Derbyshire club in a confident mood following two excellent results over the festive period at 1874 Northwich and then at home to Runcorn Linnets, and with Joe Duckworth finding his goalscoring form once again alongside Connor Hughes.

The Hillmen began the season in good form and inflicted Albion’s first league defeat in the opening home game at the U Lock It Stadium back in August, substitute Keaton Mulvey’s late goal ensuring the points went back to Derbyshire.

It could’ve been so different if Joe Duckworth’s spot kick hadn’t gone wide of the target when the game was still goalless.

Glossop might be going through a difficult period but they can’t be taken lightly as Witton have found in previous games against struggling teams.

Depending on results elsewhere, Albion can climb to sixth in the table but they have to perform in order to achieve the right result in what will be a tough test for Jon Macken’s team.

Kick off at The Asgard Engineering Stadium is 3pm.
