Jeff, that is a known problem with the Joomla software that the site runs on. The number of guests is falsely inflated. The same glitch recently fooled someone on the Vics forum, which also runs on Joomla, who believed that there were in excess of 200 guests on there at one time.
I may have a look at migrating the site to the latest incarnation of the software over the summer, however it is not a straightforward upgrade as previous ones have been.
