Just back from the match. Had a few celebratory beers on the long 3 mile journey home. The Otley supporters club did their bit by bringing a friend along and he’s so impressed he’s coming again next week!
Well done to the lads. I’ve seen Guiseley a couple of times this season and I honestly thought this would be one of our most difficult away games. Despite fears expessed earlier, the pitch was OK - a bit uneven, but much better than anticipated.
Thought we dominted the early stages. Well deserved opener. But then shot ourselves in the foot again by prattin’ around on the edge of our own box - corner - 2 giant forwards - goal. Long kick by JK, their defender asleep - Griff round the back - lobbed keeper. Half time 2-1 but a bit fortunate I thought. 2nd half we pretty well had under control. Restricted them to a couple of long range efforts. A bit nail biting though til Adam intercepted a back pass, round the keeper and game over.
Good shout from the Albion following (Top flag!!) - well done lads.

If Jim Vinceo uses the same logic as Jose Mourinho, then since we’ve got to play Telford at home (3 pts that we’ll get and they won’t) + 3 games in hand (another 9pts for us), gives us 64 pts to their 63, hence we’re virtually champions!!! I suppose it’s expecting a bit much for the Unibond League to hand us the title just get - but at least it’s achievable.
Keep it up! Best season at Witton for ages, nice to see great football getting the results it deserves.

Thought that Griff and Warlow played excellent today , Giff with his hold up play and adam for his determinaton to get every ball…
But a great team perfomance again…only critisism is to have more shots especially with fre kicks on the edge of the box… we’ve got players that can really hit a ball from outside the box so lets just have a pop a bit more often…

The bar-staff at the Kingfisher didn’t like us hanging the flag from the top floor, Pillar Of Salt were much more accomodating. And Greg found that a much easier pub to fall asleep in aswell…
