Rumour mill suggests Dean Windass as player/manager?
UniBond League Premier Division club Guiseley are looking for a new manager following the decision to part company with Terry Dolan last night after just a year in charge.
The former Bradford City, Hull and York City boss took over from Neil Parsley last October with Guiseley third in the table.
They are currently fourth and have lost their last two games, to mid-table sides Buxton and Worksop Town.
Guiseley chairman Phil Rogerson said: "We can confirm that we have parted company with Mr Dolan.
"Basically we were disappointed at the progress that’s been made in the last twelve months. We felt we needed to make a change. We’ve lost two games on the trot and we’re out of the FA Cup and we don’t seem to have made the progress we expected."
Rogerson added: "It is not a crisis, but our last three wins were by a single goal and some of those were very late on and were perhaps rather fortunate.
"We’ve got to act now, before it gets any worse.
"Also, the style we’ve played wasn’t attracting the support we would have expected for a team challenging for the league.
"That is another element of the disappointment. We’ve not been playing football in the style we used to expect at Nethermoor."
Rogerson said assistant-manager Mark Ellis will be in charge for tomorrow’s visit of Blue Square North outfit Worcester in the FA Trophy.
"That will give us time next week to consider the long-term future," he said. "We have not decided exactly what will happen after that."
Speaking before he left the club, Dolan (pictured) had claimed his side were on track to win a place in Blue Square North, despite successive defeats.
He said: "We have had a hiccup, but the good thing is we’ve still got thirty points from fifteen games and that is promotion form."
