Too many draws as Bamber Bridge and Warrington slip up but the top 5 seems to be already settled ? Titchiner scored for Colwyn Bay as well today !

What a long way to go to play on a pitch that was not as good as Belmont Road. (No disrespect to Belmont Road) with facilities to match. Still it was a nice day! First half was at best boring not helped by Harrogate’s keeper timewasting from kick off to the end. For every goal kick he fiddled about with his socks, shorts and top, dug a divit in the pitch with his boots, cleaned his boots and then had a drink of water!! Woful timewasting not even picked up once by the referee. Second half was far more exciting. Witton threw the kitchen sink at Harrogate (played with 4 strikers) and got the goal they deserved and could have won, however how Harrogate missed 3 or 4, 1 on 1 breakaways I’ll never know? It really could have been 4 or 5 1 to Harrogate! But I guess thats football? Andy Kinsey and Nathan Southern both did well when they came on. Nathan set Josh up for his goal MOM our keeper on his second half heroics…Some strange smells on the homeward coach trip though!!!..SBL

Not sure 1 point away to harrogate is a good result ( 3rd of bottom ) and sounds like we could have easily lost, but with a centre half at centre forward again and not much in truth going forward its something we will have to settle for until we regroup next season i feel, hope pritch and macca are prepared for a hard close season of recruiting, we nned to build on some very good players here and get a balance to the squad that will stick together.

From what i understand, the management team have decided that Ben is a centre-forward. So he isn’t being played out of position, this is now his role in the team.

To be able to play equally as well at centre-back and centre-forward is no mean feat and I think Ben has done so in his first season playing at a higher level. Think he needs to bulk up a bit ( if poss ) if he wants to further his career but if not can see him being a versatile Witton player for a few good years.

The chairman & co may have already made the decision to go with Pritch,Macca and Nigel next season and if they have they should IMO announce it before the season ends !

Once again we adjusted our level of play to match the opposition.
First half forgettable but the second was better, no doubt helped by our substitutions.
Their keeper made a couple of very good saves and Macca put a header over the bar.
Matt Cooper had little to do but what he did do was keep us in the game with several good blocks.
The extreme side to side slope and poor quality surface certainly didn’t help.

Spot-on match report!!

Did nobody try and bring the keepers (and the right-backs & the benches) time wasting to the attention of the referee?

I thought it was only Fergie that moaned about referees ! :silly: me !

Fergie doesn’t moan,he simply turns the hair dryer on.
