Although they were only playing at bottom of the league Poynton yesterday the 4-0 victory now had seen 3 wins scoring 8 and not conceding - sounds familiar to the 1st team eh?
The team have now played 8 league fixtures, have 10 points and their goal difference now reads -4. Considering 8 of the 16 goals conceded came in their match at Middlewich on August 22nd then full credit to Neil Gill and his team for the manner they have persevered.

Witton Albion Reserves continued their climb up the table with a convincing 4-0 win over Poynton. Dean Williams gave the away side an early lead when he slotted home in the 9th minute, Witton took control of the fixture and their second came in the 28th minute as Tim Drohan smashed the ball into the back of the net. This filled the young Witton side with confidence and they started the second half in good spirits, which were again lifted when Matty Hind made it 3-0 in the 52nd minute, Rob McGee added the final nail in Poynton’s coffin in the 76th minute to make it 4-0 and a very successful day out for the Northwich side who now sit in 13th spot.
If you are not going to Whitby on Saturday then the Reserves are at Moss Farm playing Trafford Reserves with a kick-off time of 2:15. Why not go along and have a look at them, I’m sure they’ll welcome any support.
