AND a sending off!!!

What the HELL is going on??? .veryangry

Deep into stoppage time conceded a freekick just inside our own half. The ball made it’s way to the far post, where one of the 2 unmarked attackers had time to bring the ball down, control it, and stroke it into the net.

2 minutes later and their attacker got behind our back line. Ben Harrison could only stretch a leg, bringing down the player and as last man also seeing a red card.

All in all we had done enough to win, but the usual lapses in concentration have cost us.

It all goes down to experience for it, and Saturday gives us an excellent opportunity to bounce back.

Thoroughly gutted, but we carry on regardless!

UTA.

Still 5th on 24 points and not been walked over by anyone yet, by the sounds of it a bizarre last 2 minutes, unlucky but saturday iis another day :clap

i don’t mind getting thrashed in a game if the opposition is that much better but I carn’t stand getting cheated out of a result. A combination of earlier blatent diving (which they thankfully missed) and more so some woful refereeing decisions cost us. We took the lead after about 80 mins but again could not hold on to it! SBL

I wouldn’t say we were cheated out of it. The freekick was questionable, as was the amount of stoppage time played.

But it is our responsibility to defend the freekick, and to play till the finish.

Can’t dispute the penalty or the sending off.

Hednesford were very good at putting pressure on the Ref, and that told at certain points in the game.

At 1 nil up with 10 minutes to play, we need to learn how to close these games out.

That comes with experience, and is something which Ben and Josh (21 and 19?) are going to pick up as they progress.

Ideal game for an Ollie James character in the middle of the park…

What about the head butt on Matt Cooper in the 31st minute by Neil Harvey? The referee was in full view of the incident, but decided in his wisdom just to give Harvey a stern lecture, when most officials would have brandished a straight red!!!

Very disappointing after leading 1 0! But think our goal led a bit of a charmed life in first half they did have a few opportunities to go ahead! Don’t think Sheeny is at his best at mo and would like to see Fallon given a chance there he can run all day! Where was the defence for their goal it seemed like slow motion the amount of time the no 10 had to bring the ball down and shoot ??

Absolutely gutted all the way home last night and still am now. Thought we were fortunate to take the lead as we didnt really look like scoring but that said we definately didnt deserve to lose the game but weve go to be more alert at the back. But yeah we are a young team and were still getting used to this division and i’m sure if we were offered this position after 2 months at the start of the season we would have gladly took it.

Whilst not there last night I must agree we are a young side and will therfore be inconsistent so where we are in the league is a bonus to be honest, over time we will improve on this and if ollie james comes back with shaw/connors too then I would still be positive about our results improving and being more consistent. Its unfortunate the refering standards dont seem to have improved as we move up the league :frowning:

Yeah i’m with you on that one mate. I hate having to blame the refs all the time but they do change games and not in our favour more often than not!

What has happened to Rory Fallon?, I thought he was doing well in centre midfield and now heis barely figuring at all? Although I didn’t watch the game Tuesday I think away from home should go with 5 in midfield and try and nick it. Then at home play 4-4-2 and get at teams. On the positive side we are still in a brilliant position and think we have a great chance of going up if we can stay with the leading pack. From what I’ve seen not much seperates the top 10 or 11 teams so be great if we can stay in promotion places. The lads are doing a great job …keep up the good work!

Didnt go to Hednesdford but Crossy has been doing well in centre mid, and I guess with Danny and Josh doing well on the flanks it’s a good problem for Pritch to have, leaving Rory out.
