Let us sincerely hy
ope so but I don’t think they will go “bang” completely until Ferguson retires.

SORRY, COMPUTER ACTING UP!!!

Two marvelous 6-1 scorelines at the weekend  Has anyone tried the United fans crisis line 0161 616161? It says “if you live in London, press one”…
It was a shitty result for United but it beggars belief how many so called professional and experienced journos see this as a sign that United’s dominance is over. They seem to say it once a year, every year, labouring under the belief that if they keep saying it one day they’ll be right.
United will be fine and come back stronger than this and I wouldnt bet against them winning the league. City have looked average in Europe this season and whilst they’ve got some depth in the midfield, as long as Lescott is at centre half teams will have a chance to score. I’m not fooled by Dzeko’s performance either; if anything happens to Aguero then to rely on the combustible Balotelli and Dzeko to lead the line could mean problems. And god forbid Silva gets an injury.
People can harp on about the Cup semi final being a big turning point but United were fighting on three fronts at that stage, while city only had the FA Cup to worry about, with the top 4 virtually sewn up by that point, as Arsenal did an Arsenal and Spurs did a Spurs. Not that that’s an excuse, but let’s see how City cope if they get out of their group and have to juggle multiple comeptitions in the spring.
City look strong, there’s no denying it. But the league isnt won in October, nor lost. United have vast experience in the run in and City will have to produce both remarkable consistency and something quite special to wrest the title from Old Trafford.
You just have to be POSITIVE and trust the manager !
Sadly i am sure they will recover from this soul destroying humilating blip
They will recover and buy there way out of trouble as usual, however not as usual the noisy neighbours have more money and will also strengthen, for me utd do not have the midfield strength they used to have and cannot dominate games - they were poor against liverpool, but fair play to Ferguson he knows what to do and i dont write them off but I do see the tide turning ! a blind man could, if Fergie does not get a quality midfield player and maybe right fullback then Id say City will win it ?
Every other club on the planet buys players. United at least have a higher proportion of homegrown players than their immediate rivals. For example, four of the starting 11 v Liverpool were homegrown. Further, 13 homegrown players have featured for United this season, in 14 games

Who?
De Gea (Spanish), Smalling (Fulham), Ferdinand (Leeds), Evans (Ulster), Evra (France), Young (Villa), Jones (Blackburn), Fletcher (Scotland), Park (Korea), Giggs, Welbeck.
Subs: Lindegaard, Anderson, Rooney, Hernandez, Carrick, Nani, Valencia.
So that’s 2 at a push.
I may be about to end up on the end of a very large hook attached to Robbo’s line, but Fletcher, Evans, Giggs and Welbeck all started out at United, and baring the odd loan spell, have only ever played for United.
Under the FA and the Premier League rules regarding home grown players, that can mean any player who qualifies to play for England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. So that’s Fletcher (Scotland), Evans (Northern Ireland), Giggs (Wales) and Welbeck (England) who are all home-grown players, who are still at the club they started out their careers with.
So Evans, Fletcher and Giggs didn’t play junior football for any other club before being lured away by United’s financial muscle?
To me homegrown would mean born and raised in Salford.
Don’t like to be seen supporting them in ANYWAY but I have to say virtually nobody plays for their home town club anymore. If you are born in London you might play for a London club but London is a bloody big place!
Considering their financial pull United do bring on young players in the main rather than buying established stars.
WHS.
Robbo,
Homegrown means “has been registered with [the club] for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday…”
I’m surprised that you weren’t aware of this. As you know, United have a stellar record of nurturing and developing young talent, and supplementing them with shrewd purchases in their quest for honours.
The list of players produced by the United youth system eclipses most other clubs, and includes mercurial talents such as Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Andy Grimshaw.
Andy who?

My God, not on here as well! I’ve never heard or seen so many simultaneous orgasms as when United get beat. Nor so many ABUs sprouting pure rubbish.
In my best Ross from Friends voice “WE ONLY HAD 10 MEN!” - ok, so utd went gung-ho at the end and the inevitable avalanche occurred. Shit happens! Especially when you have Rio Ferdicrock at the heart of your defence, but don’t get me started on that one! SAF has weeded out Carrick and BerbaToss - guess who’s next.
Oh yes, the last time Citeh beat us in the FA Cup SF, guess what? “WE ONLY HAD 10 MEN!”
No doubt they are on the up and with the financial input they have, it’s certain, but ffs get a grip!
I’ll leave you with this thought from one of the Stretford End flags “Your jealousy just makes us stronger!”
Not jealous, just don’t like United, end of. I didn’t like you in the 70s and 80s when you were crap and I don’t like you now, nothing to do with whether you are winning or losing. God help you when Ferguson goes, he is United, without him you will go down hill very quickly. As for the present squad you have, very overrated.
WHS.
Overrated? Bloody hell - The current squad are Premier League Champions and Champions League Finalists against probably the best club side ever to play the game. Add to that Ashley Young and another couple of young lads. Overrated? Hmmmmmmmmm.
May I ask, with the possible exception of Rooney which United player would command a £30 million fee? None in my book.It is Ferguson who gets that bit extra out of them, no one else would and with the aura of invincibilty badly dented don’t be surprised if you lose a lot more games than you are used to.
WHS.
Barcelona exposed cracks in Utd’s team that Fergie has so far failed to fill - but I am sure he will given time !
You just have to give City some credit Eddie - the league table does not lie !
