I’m talking about clubs going into administration. Isn’t it just too easy to go into administration, wipe off your debts and start again. According to the news Rangers owe over £40M which they carn’t pay. Surely the penalties should be more severe? How about relegation to the Scottish third division for a start? Portsmouth are also reported as about to do the same thing. What about all the people that they owe money to with families to feed? Any views out there? SBL
Well thats the rule so it’s irrelevant if it’s fair or not. The rule should be you pay all creditors not just football creditors but that may require a law change as the football authorities don’t give two hoots about other creditors
Seems pretty obvious why they’re doing it now and not over the summer. That’s the biggest flaw for me, teams taking the penalty when it suits them.
Problem is if you punish to harshly the club go bust and no one gets paid anything. I agree though that something needs doing, allowing people to fiddle their taxes is not on, except for MP’s and the super rich of course, and no one expects the big multi nationals to pay their taxes in full, well the Tax Office obviously don’t!!
WHS.
