Jacob Marsland

Although nothing to do with football I’ve had permission to post this on here, In the hopefully not too distant future we will be sorting out something for young Jacob at Witton in the form of inviting his school friends to come down and do a blanket collection, in the mean time I had organised a 70’s night in the hope of having a few laughs and raising much needed funds. If you don’t already know Jacob has a rare form of cancer and the best chance he has of survival is treatment in America which obviously costs a great deal of money (£250,000) so far in the region of £40,000 has been raised. Anyway back to the 70’s night it will be held at Hartford Social club next Friday 29th Feb tickets are just £5 with 2 bands and a disco playing the (great?) sounds of the 70’s I know a few of you have already bought tickets but please if anyone else would like to support please let me know and I will sort out tickets for you, 70’s dress is encouraged! which I know will please some as they can come as normal ;D if you want to find our more about Jacob here is the link to his website www.jacobmarslandappeal.org thanks everyone

Well done Picko, can’t make the event next week but more than happy to buy a couple of tickets by way of donation. Most of us at the moment are focused purely on the promotion of the club which put into context is quite trivial compared to Jacob’s fight. I hope that we can get the club more involved in something towards the end of the season, our last home game maybe? The blanket collection is the very least we could and should do. I see the lad is a United supporter, has anyone spoken to Rod regards this, I am sure he could assist in some way and as a father to his own little lad would be more than willing to do something?

Perhaps Jacob could be the mascot at one of our games if he has not done so already? You should talk to GE and Wayne Peach to perhaps further this if it is something you are personally close to.

I think all the fans would be more than willing to support any fundraising for the appeal.

Just got this e mail from Jacobs Dad, please what ever you are doing Friday a fiver for a night out is nothing. Rabbit thanks for the offer e mail me your address and I’ll send the tickets but please come if you can. wafcaddict@aol.com
