Heard an ugly rumour our trusted number one is leaving for Droylsden, and that JV is involved, tell me it aint true, its like a dagger to the heart…or is it the back!
Truth be told, JK is a fantastic goalkeeper and is well worthy of playing at a higher standard. As a Club, we are also unlikely to be able to afford what he feels he deserves to be paid - and he’s been worth every penny to us.
If JK moves on, then best of luck to him. I don’t think we could afford the money he would be looking for inorder to stay anyway.
Also just seen on the Chronicle website that Peers and Brownhill are about to leave I did see something on the Alty forum that they were in talks with Brownhill but thought it was just rumour.
Anyone know anything about this?
I hope JV isnt involved because it would be very much a dagger in the back of Witton Albion FC. I am already suspect of JVs activity since leaving as it just seemed to me there was more to him leaving than to recover from an ankle operation.
But we cannot really comment on it till the rumours become fact.
However, in regards to Jk it would be a shame to see him go as he has been fantastic this season. Fortunately, there are a fair few very good keepers in this league that i’m sure would like to join a club like Witton. Because of this as much as i would hate to see JK leave, my main concern is keeping the likes of Brownhill, Macca, Peersy, A.Brown, Brodie because it will be replacing those that will be even harder.
Personally, I have come to the conclusion that all the decent players will move on this summer. If I’m wrong, then that will be a nice surprise, if I’m right I can’t feel any worse than I have the last few days…
I concure with Manchester Wittoner. My thoughts were exactly the same on Jim but I would like to think that its just health and personal stuff and not some other ulterior motive like joining up with Dave Pace who I know is a friend and admirer. So much has happened at the club that its really worrying now. we really need some good news like us signing someone on.
I am sure we haven’t heard the last of JV yet!
The rumours are really starting to gather speed.
I agree with Greenie about the squad for next season. Providing the clubs that are sniffing around our players really want them (and by that I mean by paying a fee that represents there quality) then we will probably lose about half of the squad. That’s the harsh reality of football and not winning promotion unfortunately. What the club shouldn’t, and won’t stand for, is clubs coming in for our contract players and expecting to get them for nothing. I think it’s very easy to suggest that announcements should be made about which players are staying/going and new players that we are bringing in. Until the club receive official approaches for our contract players then we will probably assume that they are staying and I’m sure Nige is speaking to existing and new players about next season. As hard as it is, us the fans, need to be patient and back Nige, Graham, and Mark Harris’s judgement to assemble the best available squad for the coming season.
KEEP THE FAITH
And judging by Nigels comments in the Guardian, it seems hes planning for JK to be staying
