Jobs To Be Done

A long serving associate of WAFC has asked to post the jobs that are thought to need doing. It’s quite an old list now i think so some work has probably been started, perhaps somebody in the know could update as to what has been done so far?

And if everyone else had a look for things they feel they could help out with?

GROUNDSKEEPER BUILDING

  1. New frame and door is required(door has a 6 inch gap at the bottom!)2. A dry,safe and secure storage container is required for an fertiliser asin the past rats have eaten it (normal practice is to have it locked)

WINCHAM END TURNSTILES

  1. Sand/Strip FACIA boards (NB may need to be assessed for replacement)2. Paint all frames white and doors red as per club colours.

WINCHAM TERRACE 1. Roof Supports strip and paint (in progress)
2. Check and repair if necessary roof for water tightness
3. Metal supports of concrete strip and paint (inside and outside ground)
4. Perimeter terrace barrier, strip and paint red.
5. Clean pitch gutter and space in between advertising board and terrace
6. Yellow pitch exit gates strip and paint yellow
7. Middle terrace seal to be replaced (fusion/crack between sections)8. Repaint area of exit gates 7 & 8
9. Strip and paint all floodlight boxes

WINCHAM TOILET BLOCK

  1. Remove windows and brick up space.
  2. Male toilet. Remove graffiti above sink area
  3. Replace seat cover in female toilet
  4. Repair door frames and paint doors.
  5. Assess facia boards inside and outside stadium. Based on this replace orsand and paint in red

TEA BAR

  1. Assess facia boards and after replace or sand and paint red
  2. Extractor hole outside stadium to be sealed.
  3. Consideration for some form of cover for table put out?
    **** STAFF and GE may have more input regarding any other work *****

POPULAR SIDE TERRACE

  1. Pitch perimeter terrace barrier strip and paint red
  2. Metal supports of concrete strip and paint (inside and outside ground)
  3. Fix pothole in tarmac centre of terrace under roof cover
  4. Remove empty birds nest from centre of structure
  5. Clean behind advertising boards and pitch gutter
  6. Complete painting of cage area
  7. Numerous potholes in tarmac from cage to exit gate 5 need to beaddressed. Probable action to dig up and replace 50 ft by 2.5 ft space
  8. Paint exit gate 5

LOSTOCK END

  1. Paint exit gate 4
  2. Strip and paint floodlight boxes
  3. Pitch perimeter terrace barrier strip and paint red
  4. Metal supports of concrete strip and paint (inside and outside ground)
  5. Roof Supports strip and paint
  6. Fix large crack in concrete steps 1-4 opposite 18 yard line left side aslooking at pitch
  7. Clean behind advertising boards and pitch gutter
  8. Fix small potholes on tarmac section of terrace nearest to toilets
  9. Ensure yellow exit areas on floor are all painted

LOSTOCK TOILETS

  1. Male entrance door to be replaced if not able to repair
  2. Establish why female toilet is out of order and repair
  3. Assess facia boards inside and outside stadium and replace or paintaccordingly
  4. Remove windows and brick up space

LOSTOCK TURNSTILES

  1. Sand/Strip FACIA boards inside and outside stadium (NB may need to beassessed for replacement)
  2. Paint all frames white and doors red as per club colours. MAIN STAND 1. Repaint white steps with weathersheild paint2. Resolve old graffiti issue in family stand by painting blocks or havingWAFC in area
  3. Sand re-varnish hand rails in stand area
  4. Notice board to put back on wall in press box
  5. Find missing C Section sign as A.B and D are present
  6. Repaint tunnel with white weathershield paint
  7. Paint red wood above tunnel
  8. Reattach guttering to facia board above old tea hut
  9. Paint red old tea hut facia board.
  10. Paint far left corner of stand
  11. Paint exit gate and repair broken metal in gate (next to groundsman’sbuilding)
  12. Paint side of shed that faces into stand (one Runcorn use)
  13. Paint all doors that lead to stadium

MAIN STAND TOILETS

  1. Clear disabled toilet so it can be used
  2. Fix disabled door
  3. Sand and paint red slits in floodlight room
  4. Fix first urinal in male toilets that overflows and leaks

DUGOUTS

  1. Replace existing benches with tip up seats
  2. Make roof of dugouts water tight. Currently at least two leaks and largesection has come away on top of dugouts
  3. Replace astro turf outside dugouts and consider extending to area thatwould constitute the technical area
  4. Replace glass section in 4th official area as it has large cracks allover it

OTHER
1 PITCH- seeding, top dressing etc in hands of club
2. GOALPOSTS - need to be replaced 13 years old and hammered
3. METAL fence to be purchased (spikes on top) to secure shed that waterirrigation system sits in.
4. Treat wooden fence of social club
5. Repaint car park lines with weathershield white and yellow accordingly
6. Strip and paint slits for boiler room door outside stadium.
7. Replace lifted vinyl tiles (light grey) in home and away changing room
8. Purchase and fit grey tiles in players corridor
9. Ensure all exit signs in ground are in place and clearly marked
10. Fire extinguishers to be checked
11. Secure cleaning cupboard in players corridor
12. Re hang door leading to playing area as only on 2 out of its 3 hinges
13. Paint door red in toilet in away changing room
14. Paint all bin lids on terracing around stadium
15. Establish wooden pitch border
16. Put loose stone on whole of perimeter track as started last summer
17. Weed kill track

FINALLY
remove all unnecessary rubbish from ground

Nice one Robbo, we will be posting more on this subject however if anyone wishes to volunteer for items on the list then use this thread.

We will be posting specific times when the ground is accessible including specific weekends when we want to get as many people involved as possible. Meanwhile contact Jeff at the club.

I think some of the work has already been started/completed. The best thing for people to do is probably to copy the list and take out the bits that have been done.

If anybody can think of anything else feel free to add it.

There’s lots to be done and it’s really going to be a team effort.
