Good luck John and thanks for all your hard work.

Thanks for all your work John, it’s a big ask to run a busy business and a football club. UTA

I echo the comments above, thanks for all your hard work and good luck for the future.

In many instances, people don’t realise just how much somebody has contributed until they don’t do it anymore. I feel gutted that John has resigned, because in my mind he’s turned the club round in such a way that he can’t be replicated.
Graham will be running the show temporarily, and I as one will support and help him as much as possible, but he has made it clear, he doesn’t want the job permanently, which must be respected.
I think we’ll find it extremely difficult to replace John at a similar level and even harder to improve. He’s done deals which most could only dream about. He and Reg with help from others have turned the club from a loss making enterprise into a debt free business. For that alone, we should be grateful.
I’m hoping now that the doubting Thomas’s will think again, and start thinking positively about how we’re going to keep the club going - there’s been far too much negativity flying around and none of it helps right now.

Anyone who takes on the running of any club or association is to be commended as it usually associated with a huge drain on one’s social and personal life, as well as being in the full glare of spectators or members, with all the trials and tribulations that brings. It is hugely wearing and not a burden that can be shouldered for ever. So when any incumbent leaves, they should be thanked and treated with good grace for the contribution they have made - and John is no different. He has put his heart and soul into our football club and for that he is deserving of all our thanks. Getting someone to take on the post of Chairman will not be easy, but John’s legacy is a club in a far better position off the field. So hopefully, we can find someone with the requisite skills and expertise to take on the challenge.
