John Shaw

Witton Albion Manager Scott Dundas has issued the following statement.

Re: John Shaw

John Shaw is seeking pastures new for the forthcoming season. John spoke with manager Scott Dundas and asked to be released from his contract, due to his own personal reasons to which his request was accepted.

Scott said he "only wants players at Witton Albion, who are prepared to fight and show commitment together as a team.’ " If players are not prepared to do that, they simply will not be at Witton Albion.’

The football club and I, wish John well for his future.

 is that for real? :woohoo:

Sounds real to me ! Proof of the pudding ! Lets at least give him a chance, replacing John Shaw won’t be that hard in fact the manager may have done it already, but good luck to Him wherever he ends up.

Clearly he made this decision the minute it was announced Gards was returning.

Thank you for everything you have done for the Albs John and all the best for the future, you will be missed. UTA

Sorry Mr Dundas but Mr. Gardener did not show much commitment to the club or the team at the end of last season whilst Mr Shaw stayed through thick and thin. I believe it was wrong to re-sign Mr Gardener and that is all I have to say on the matter.

From the Chaiman’s “putting the record strait”…

“However, before he offered Anthony terms, Scott spoke to each of the players still on the staff from the end of last season, accompanied by his full backroom team. During the conversations with Danny Andrews, Jon Dawson, Alex Titchiner, Tom Schofield and John Shaw, no-one expressed any reservations about Gards returning, although John Shaw did so subsequently in phone calls initially to me, and thereafter to Scott.”

Doesn’t sound like Mr Dundas has made any error or misjudgement when re signing Mr Gardener to me there.

Now I really liked Mr Shaw and would like to wish him the very best wherever he plays BUT he was the team captain as we gained one point out of a possible 18 and went down when two flippin points would have kept us up. Not judging at all just stating what happened.

I work with plenty of people that I don’t particularly like but you have to work together and get the job done, and I’m pretty sure that I spend more time with those people every week than john shaw and gards would in the most successful of seasons.
If he really wanted to play for Witton he’d man up, tell gards what he thinks of the situation and get on with it. You don’t have to be best friends off the pitch to play well together on the pitch.

Time to draw the line me thinks !

We have to start this season with absolutely full commitment on and off the pitch. There is no room for any doubters . I believe Scott will build us a team to be proud of - please let him get on with it !!

Like Mr. Gardener did with Mr Sully?

see above !!!

If Gards had played we would have still gone down people trying to blame Gards lol ! The mgt and signings were not good enough and even they said so ! As Knutsfordian rightly said lets move on. I for one will not be posting again on the past season and or events around it, lets just get behind Scott and co.

Don’t think that’s the point people have been trying to make CJ, more a loyality issue and digging in when times are tough. Agree with you though, a line should be drawn under this now we have to move on. Onwards and upwards UTA

Totally agree, over and done with. ONWARDS AND UPWARDS.
