Karls Bavarian Brass,

A Night, the likes of which ,has never been seen at Wincham Park for over 20 years, in a time when having Bum fun mooney was being slapped on the cheeks by men in leather shorts and gay still meant Happy, when you would actually welcome the clubs lager in big stein glasses! .sick Yes children there once was a time, and you guessed it, Oompah returns to our" Sacred Social" on Friday 18th January! :clap
The Tickets are £15 which includes a Hot Pot Supper, and the Bar will be 8 til 12 (Subject to Petes interpretation of events!),
and even better,(No Jim it could’nt get any better!) I dont want any money!..yet, but what I really do need is your commitment to support this event, I’m not going to go over old ground, enough has been said regarding the poor turnout of “Wittoners” to the Xmas Bash etc,etc (Although we still raised £260.48) but if you do really care about the future of OUR Club, and you really do want “Mid-Cheshire” to remain our for the forseable future ,and to move OUR Club forwards ,you have to do more than stick your hands up at meetings then go home and forget all about it ,you can no longer leave it up to the 20% who work their danglies off for OUR Club, you really have to get involved, this event would be a good start, theres also a page in yesterdays programme featuring endless ways to help out, where was I?
yes, sorry about that, what started out as an advert for the "Bavarian Night "turned into a bit of a rant, like i said , no money required but i do need an indication of numbers for the catering and table layouts, so if you would let me know the number of tickets that you may require as soon as poss ,it would help, also could whoevers in control of the various Witton Sites, ie coming up section, please include these details, and any other forms of advertising this event would be appreciated ,Cheers!

One ticket for me James!!

Sounds a great night, looking forward to it.

Who else is coming?

Great opportunity for WHS to support the volunteers without having to watch Foster play?

Check your private messages Jap.

put me down for 2 please jim, hopefully i’ll be wanting more. I put those flyers up that you gave me. Some in town and a few at the bakery so hopefully they might get some people interested.

My Dad is coming, so that’s another 2 tickets.

I’ll take a ticket Jim but not 100% I can come yet

Just to bring this topic back to the fore - THIS EVENT NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!

JP has alluded to the whys and wherefores but bottom line is it shouldn’t be seen as a chore, to come to an event, it will be a great nights entertainment and it needs Wittoners to support it AND more importantly to bring people down with them, friends, neighbours relatives.

As Delia said ‘Come on lets be havin you!’

Without your support the event won’t happen people.

I would take an educated guess that the same people who are being critical of the team will be the same people that choose not to support an event designed to help the club grow and improve…

Will be very happy to be proven wrong though.

It was mentioned yesterday that the Ticket price may be putting some people off coming to this event, If we wereto reduce this to lets say £10 we would then need to sell 88 tickets to break even, at £15 we will require 48 before we start to" RAISE FUNDS FOR OUR CLUB", considering we only managed to attract 94 to our Xmas Bash I dont think a tenner is an option, but what we could do would be to offer tickets priced £10 for concessions such as over 65’s,Full Time Students the Unemployed and as we are “The Help for Heroes Stadium” why not the Armed forces personnel, what do you reckon? bangwall

I don’t know if I fall into the critical group  but I will take 2 tickets (I did buy 2 tickets for the Xmas do)

Why not spread the word around the post office crowd aswell?? Some of them must be big drinkers?

Bluenoses are always classed as a critical group!!! Keep up the good work JAP! Why not come down, have a few beers and enjoy the night

Well if you know your history you know why  If there is a Flyer I can put one up at work no problem, will pop in the club shop tomorrow night

Thanks to Andy Simpson for giving the event some exposure on the Guardian website.

Well what an utterly ungrateful bunch us ‘Wittoners’ have turned out to be.

Jimmy takes the time and effort to organise an event aiming to add much-needed funds to our coffers, and we offer him almost no support at all.

Jimmy has done all the hard work, all we have to do is turn up on the night and have a good time. But, no. It seems that is beyond us.

There are those who will say it’s not there scene. Fair point. But what is?

We had Christmas Balls. People said they were too formal.

So we had a Christmas Disco. Honestly we did, it happened. You just weren’t there to see it.

Now we are trying something that has never been done at Witton in the last god knows how long. Something new and different.

Our response? I would say apathy, but that suggests people gave at least taken notice.

So you don’t want to come along and help YOUR club progress.

Have you offered to chuck a few quid in to cover the loss it is likely to make due to lack of support?

Have you offered to take some tickets to try and sell to family and friends? People who may enjoy a social occasion.

Have you taken any posters into your place of work? Helped to publicise it in any way?

If the answer to any of these questions is No, then what DO you actually want from this Football Club?

In 18 months times a new Vics team will be on the up. Their fans, filled to the brim with optimism, will be supporting EVERY even their social committee puts on.

They will be climbing the non-league pyramid whilst we begin to first stagnate, and then go backwards.

Before we know it we will once again be the town’s second team. And this time there will be no Mike Connett, no Jim Rushe, no Thor Chemicals to give us a helping hand.

Vics have learnt their lessons. For some reason we haven’t learnt ours.

Last season didn’t just happen by magic. It took us a lot of hard work. And now we look like we’re happy to throw that away.

So i ask you again; what do YOU want from YOUR club?

When the budget is cut, and players leave, how will you react? When we start to fall down the league, and end up back where we worked so hard to get away from, what then?

I honestly feel some of ‘supporters’ would rather have that, if only to give themselves something to moan about again.

Failure to support fundraising activities will only result in one outcome.

It would break my heart to see great Wittoners stop making the effort to raise the funds that keep this club progressing.

We have come so far this last 18 months - are we about to throw the towel in?

Witton Albion Football Club NEEDS this event to be a success.

So make a decision. Are you with us or not.

Jim pencilled me in but I can deffo make it so stick me down as a definate Robbo. Will ask around over the weekend too, cheers P

I’ll have 2 tickets please - can I pick them up from somebody at the Runcorn game?

Put me down for 2 tickets please

Last big push on this now…

Lot’s of talk on this forum about ways to help our club grow, also concern regarding players leaving and whether cash-flow is as we would want it to be.

Well it’s in our hands, so let’s all contribute.

If you care enough to type, then hopefully you care enough to show up on Friday night too.
