Kidsgrove Athletic v. Witton Albion

Hopefully a chance to see Haywood and 2 new players involved hopefully will make a difference wont be easy at Kidsgrove though UTA

Kidsgrove are a decent side. A draw might not be such a bad result to be honest.

It would be the start of getting it together so Yes a draw is fine for me but prefer 3 points lol UTA

Seems like Witton have had a couple of chances to increase their lead, but it’s now level with a Kidsgrove substitute netting almost immediately after coming on .

In added time, still one all but according to Kidsgrove’s twitter we’ve managed to miss an open goal.

Final score 1 - 1.

50 /50 first half but we had the better chances, second half we didn’t start till 30 minutes gone and it looked like a defeat looming but we finally got going and should have won it! Duckworth missing a sitter and then hitting the post with a very good free-kick. Barrow looked good addition and Huxley on as sub played well I thought. Reed didn’t look match sharp but set up the first goal. Tinning has moved on and Haywood was getting married and Williams/Harrison injured, so now we need a left back but with everyone fit its looking better. UTA

A lot better today, need to take our chances. Thought Barrow was excellent in the holding role. We’ve had some tough games early doors but hopefully we’ll start to pick up points.
One point is the kit situation. Why do we need to wear our purple away kit every game. Today was embarrassing with Kidsgrove having to wear their away shirts. Why change to our away kit when our iconic red and white stripes dont clash.

I put the kit in to the ref 2 wks ago and he said it was fine …
But it wasn’t so i appolgize it was my mistake

Agreed CJ midfield looked better with the big man in there we could have won this game with a bit more luck we are still getting over run at times but an improvement

Any news on Ben’s return? Why and where has Tinning gone?

Not your mistake if the ref had OKd it beforehand. Although I have to agree with @Charliebel, we should always play in the traditional strip unless there is a clash. Never understood the fad for ‘away’ kits, always struck me as just a money-making gimmick by the big professional clubs.

Ben said he hopes to be fit for next week.
Understand Tinning is to join AFC Bury after they put in 7 days notice for him. Presumably money talks!

Although they had more posession, particularly on the second half, we created the more clear cut chances.

Agree that Darlington gave us much needed physical presence and know-how as the holding midfield player.
Good move for our goal, in which Reed played his part.

As well as the missed chances there were also several occasions when a slightly earlier pass from the midfield could have created further chances.

The half-time tannoy announcement that foul language would not be tolerated was obviously missed by their manager who was effing and jeffing throughout the second half!
Overall pleased to get a draw and something to build on.
