Weather permitting, Witton make the short trip to leaders KidsgroveAthletic on Saturday afternoon in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

Grove have begun the season well under the guidance of one-time Albion manager Scott Dundas, but have had a blip in recent weeks losing their last two games, at home to neighbours Newcastle Town and then last weekend at Nantwich Town.

They have strengthened their squad however in recent days, particularly with the acquisition of forward Mason Fawns from Bootle.

He was prolific at Mossley scoring 17 goals before his move to Merseyside which was short-lived.

A familiar face to Witton supporters who could feature against us is defender Scott Lycett.

Witton will be looking to bounce back following last week’s defeat to Clitheroe after conceding a last minute goal.

Jon Macken has added to his squad in midweek with the arrival of John Pritchard from Stalybridge Celtic who will add something to the midfield and the defence if required.

However, the loss of last season’s leading scorer Joe Duckworth to Bury FC will undoubtedly leave a void in attack that hopefully can be filled either within the current squad or perhaps a new addition.

The last two meetings between the two sides played in Staffordshire have both ended in draws but Albion did take four points from the two games last season.

Witton certainly face a tough game but can hopefully apply themselves and come away with a positive result.

Kick off at The Autonet Stadium is 3pm.

I suppose there will be a pitch inspection given the damp forecast. Any news yet?

I think it’s a bit more than damp C.J., I think we will be lucky if it’s on. :sweat_drops::sweat_drops:

Just seen on Kidsgrove social media that it’s on.

Great! See you all there. Team wise I’d guess at

Koral, Harrison Hoyle, Pritchard
Williams, Fogerty, Kennerley

Pope, Hughes

Good luck whoever plays. UTA
