Looking at where we are though I can’t see how anyone can be disappointed. Ok Saturday’s result was poor especially given that we were two up and should have killed the game off.
Promotion, unbeaten runs, increased attendances are all positives. Add that to the off the pitch stuff and this club is really on the up. We weren’t going to win the fa cup. We won’t win the FA trophy. We have to lose at some point and will probably throw away more games this season but it’s about how the team react. Let’s have a bit of faith, a bit of support and start looking at the glass been half full. Saturday has gone now and we have another chance at earning some prize money this saturday.
To be honest, in my opinion it is a couple of older heads we need to give the team that bit more experience - mainly of how to grind out wins in games where we don’t see so much of the ball.
What I would give for a Pritchard, Connors and Moseley of 2007/9 vintage…
Experienced players cost money. We need to keep attendances high to keep the budget up.
Just got to go down as a bad day at the office tbh, we haven’t seen as disjointed a performance as that from this group of players previously.
The shape of the team just went as soon as they scored, and the self belief that comes with playing good football and dominating games evaporated.
2 up and a missed penalty and a disallowed own goal should be enough to see you through, but in fairness Kendal were better than us, showed tremendous character adn if they’d won 6/7 or 8 we could have had no complaints.
We’ve got a week off before an equally important and difficult game next Saturday, I’m sure that Pritch,Mike and the management team are acutely aware of what went wrong and will take a pragmatic approach .
I am very worried and hope I am wrong.
Has the team peaked out and can not keep up with the pace in 2nd half ? They are starting brilliantly but seem to wilt later.
Overtraining? Running out of ideas ?? I dont know as I am not an expert.I have total faith in the management and the team and remain upbeat but as a Wittoner and an ordinary fan I am concerned.
UTA
That makes me even sicker than I am now Jeff. I’m not commenting on the match Saturday I’m still angry but I do know that BP and Co will sort something if the wheels are brokeWhat a money spinning tie that would have been with every chance of beating them at Bury (7500 plus whatever we would get from a 200 gate!!)
I didnt go so hard to be too criticaL Vi8 could have written the words for me, a little concerned but trust the team to get it right, for sure we are missing olly and titch, the replacements for whatever reasons have not done so and we dont look as good as last season and maybe the competition is a bit tougher ? pig sick about the result and the missed draw.
No Andy,here I am just a Wittoner ,a fan and a supporter.
I have never brought my board room position here and have no intention of doing it ever.
My utterings are my own as a supporter and nowt else.End of. nono
vi8, you may have a valid point. The football we play is very intense and maybe we need to sign a “BIG B***ER” to play up front when we are running out of steam.
