Witton are on the road again on Saturday afternoon when they travel north up the M6 to take on Lancaster City in an Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture. The Dolly Blues have recently found a bit of form and are unbeaten in their last three games, including an excellent draw at high-flying WarringtonTown a game in which they were leading deep into added time. They had also gained a point from their home fixture with South Shields previously. They still find themselves in the bottom three in the table going into this crucial encounter so the result will be very important for both teams as Witton try to avoid being dragged into the the relegation fight. The home side’s position can be largely attributed to their horrendous start to the season in which they only managed two points from their first nine games but the appointment of Mark Fell as manager has galvanised the team and they will prove difficult opponents as they look to continue their improvement of recent weeks. The squad has also seen the arrival of two new signings in former Bamber Bridge striker Brad Carsley, who has made an immediate impact scoring in his two games so far. He is now joined by former Bamber Bridge team mate Paul Dawson who signed this week. Witton will be hoping to get back to winning ways after last week’s narrow defeat at Hyde United which brought their recent good away form to an end. Kick off at Giant Axe Stadium is 3pm.
