Accrington Stanley manager and his assistant, plus other clubs.
The one thing this team is not short of is spirit. The performance in the second half may have lacked some of the passing and movement in the first, but no one could deny everyone on the pitch gave their all - and that’s the most important thing for me. This first weeks of the season has showed that we can hold our own against all the teams in this league (and above). With that spirit in the team anything is possible. Get behind the lads on saturday and give the vocal support as on Tuesday and anything is possible.

BELOW ARE A FEW (UN-BIASED!) EXTRACTS FROM LEEKS WEBSITE;

High flying Witton were given a torrid time at Harrison Park last night as the home side totally dominated the second half after more than matching the Cheshire side in the opening 45 minutes.

Granted the visitors went in at the break 2-1 up but Witton were fortunate to retake the lead after Blues had wiped out their opening goal.

After the break, Witton were rarely in it and were forced onto the back foot as Leek took the game to them.

Unfortunately, Leek sensationally had MacPherson sent off for the first time in senior football as he was adjudged to have lashed out at Steve Connors in the 82nd minute.

Connors, who had earlier been cautioned, was guilty of holding MacPherson back by grabbing his shirt, escaped punishment but the referee sent off the Blues? midfielder for lashing out with his arm as he tried to break free.

Despite this set-back, Leek continued to push forward and spectators could be forgiven for mistaking which clubs were at the top and bottom of the table.
Connors certainly blotted his copybook with the blatant dishonest collapse following the alleged elbow incident. No doubt Southport and other scouts will distance themselves from that sort of behaviour which spoils the game.

It’s a pity a player has to resort to cheating to get an opponent sent off!
?Was good to see Chris Gaghan getting a run out aswell.
Agreed!! That boy was on form earlier in the season and regularly getting man of match and then all of a sudden demoted to the bench and sometimes not even making the subs bench [smiley=dunno.gif]. we’ll be lucky to hang on to him at this rate :
Sorry Armchair Fan - don’t know what game you were at. From where we were stood there was no doubt the leek player lashed out with his elbow - no alleged about it and for one of the few occaisions in this game I thought the referee was spot on. If anything it was a surprise that one of the other leek players wasn’t sent off too for some really dreadful challenges. I personally don’t think Steve C has any case to answer.
The guy lashed out with his elbow. FULL STOP.Red card is the only outcome.

Steve Connors gets hammered every single game but very rarely goes down - unless off course theres a female physio!!! :P

Odw thi foot up Robbo…

If my report on the Leek site was so biased, why did Chad nick the following chunk of it for his report earlier in this thread?

…In time added on, Steve Howson saw his snap-shot drift wide and then he charged down a clearance by the keeper only for the ball to spin away to safety.

After the break, Witton were rarely in it and were forced onto the back foot as Leek took the game to them.

Dorryl Proffitt forced a good save out of Jon Worsnip and then, in the 64th minute, Anthony Danylyk fired in a great shot that rattled the upright with Worsnop well beaten…

Best wishes for the rest of the season

Mike
The first half was one way traffic oh rose tinted one
Consolation for Leek in the fact that at least they’ll be due one good gate when they face FC United in Unibond Div 1 next season
It’s consolation Robbo, go on and buy yourself a Dicshunary!!!
