Good win for them but hardly unexpected. In fairness they have not let us get out of reach throughout the last couple of months. In footballing terms we are a far more attractive side however it now comes down to inner strength and belief. If we play like we did last Saturday we will be fine, just stick to the game plan.
There could still be a couple of further twists. Buxton cannot play any worse than the did in their home match against Fleetwood, maybe they will go there and get a point. We still have the advantage of 3 at home and 1 away compared to their 2 and 2. The pitches at Stamford and Leek are far from being the easiest to play on and both of them are scrapping for survival.

I think the cods are more confident than us and we’re a point ahead and have 3 home games left! Our lads are confident, and as fans, we just need to give them as much encouragment as possible in the last 4 games. I think there will be plenty of twists left yet, and as Mr Rabbit says, Buxton have a serious point to prove after their shambolic home performance against Fleetwood last week. Even if the cods win all of their games, lets make sure that’s not enough.

I agree greg, sounds like the cods think its all over!! Fair play they have done well recently by winning a few games but they are still below us!

Think it’s fair to say that all Witton fans have been gracious enough to say that if Fleetwood continue to win all of their games and we slip up then they deserve it. The best team (regardless of their style of play) will be at the top of the league on the 26th April. I think it will be us
damn right we will win all 4, no doubt. and worst case scenario they will still drop points. for them to win all 4 is a big ask. we in 1st are at home to 5th. them in second are at home to 4th. sounds to me like they have a more difficult one. and they have been playing midweek and weekend it will take it out of them in at least one game befoe the end. We have had 2 weeks off to focus on this game. But regardless saturday is our toughest remaining. We win that, and i see nothing but us being Championees!!!:laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

At my son’s in Birmingham on Saturday to see my grandson, I have told my other son, Andy, to stay away too, this is one game we don’t want to “Jonah” And please, don’t say we are not “Jonahs” My son Chris has only seen two games this season, we drew one and lost the other, both at home!! Seriously, I am confident this side will get us up, I am just a little worried it maybe via the playoffs.

Buxton’s game got called off last night, so they will be fresher than Fleetwood on Saturday.
Leek won 5 - 0 at home v Kendal last night, which follows a decent draw at the weekend. Perhaps they are finding form?
Stamford pushed Fleetwood on Saturday, and got a very decent draw at home v Gateshead last night. Maybe they are improving also?
It’s far from over, and this weekend will not determine anything. The only way Saturday’s results can come anywhere close to wrapping things up is if Witton win and Fleetwood lose.
This is what it’s all about, let’s enjoy it while we can.

Obviously a meaningless end of season game.
As i posted 10 days ago, I think Fleetwood will win all their games, so we have to do the same - Its that simple.

to the vics fan who reckons lightning will strike twice.how many times will it strike for you lot before you eventually run out of bad business men to bail you out.
So if we don’t win on Saturday we may aswell cancel the last 3 games?! The league season finishes on the 26th April, and is unlikely to be won or lost before this. If we drop points on Saturday, then so be it. Doesn’t mean that Fleetwood wont in future games.
The best way to go about it is to win all 4 games - which we are good enough to do. If we take maximum points then it’s our league. But if we do drop points on Saturday, then it is even more vital that we get behind the team for the remaining 3 games and take as many points from those games as is possible.
I still feel that Fleetwood will drop points at some stage.
