A lot of you will know Debbie Saunders(Waterman), from her days whilst she was living up here and was always at Witton games supporting the club especially whilst she was running the Club Shop. Since she moved down south, Debbie has taken part in a lot of distance running with her husband Mark and has completed a number of races over varying distances whilst also raising money for charity - particularly “The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.”
On 22nd April this year, Debbie is entering The London Marathon and will be running in memory of her dad & a great servant and supporter of Witton Albion Football Club - Tony Waterman.
Tony was a great supporter of the football club from being a boy, and he undertook a number of tasks around the club from working on the ground, helping to keep the pitch in order, stewarding, fund-raising, junior football and anything else that he could help with.
Sadly, Tony passed away in October 2012 shortly after he was diagnosed but he has never been forgotten by all those who knew him and I’m sure that will remain.
Please can we help by supporting Debbie in her fund-raising for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation in memory of a great Wittoner, who is very much missed by us all.
Debbie has set up a fund-raising page where people can donate to her worthy case at - https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/DebbieSaunders5.
Please help if you can all donations will be gratefully appreciated.
