Bit unfair on eli, it was Robbo who first intimated that Macca was leaving and that set the “rumour” ball rolling.
WHS.
I was down the club tonight, and was informed that Ian has been offered terms for next year, which he is currently considering.
It doesn’t help the club with these rumours as other clubs read this forum, and as such, it alerts them that our players may/could be available.
It is amazing how much work for next season is going on behind the scenes, and as soon as information is available to go public, then please be assured that in my new role as Press Officer, I will let you know ASAP. The Board do not hold back on making information public, unless there are reasons to do so (e.g if delicate negotiations are ongoing).
I hope next week to announce which players have re-signed from last season, and which new players have been signed (although some forms have been filled in, the club are waiting for confirmation from the League, and the FA that the registrations have been accepted by them). Also, the final arrangements for all pre-season friendlies should be completed, and I will be able to give you full details.
Please be patient whilst all this work is completed.
Superinjunctions ?
Freedom of speech ?
Someone within the club should be the one to keep their mouths shut AF ?
Well done and thanks Jeff. It gets me down when we air all the speculation on this forum. Ok yes freedom of speech and all that but rumor mongering is already spoiling the build up to the new season which I for one was looking forward too under Macca and Pritch. So thank God for the voice of sensibility in my old mucker Jeff (Thatched Tavern). Lets wait until Jeff releases the information before we start speculating. To Ian Kearns again another guy who is idolised by the fans and is popular and well liked please stay. You’ve already left once and found the grass is not that greener elsewhere!! Stay and finish the job where I can assure you you are appreciated and very popular. You can get the beers in after Macca!!
ONWARD and UPWARD!!
It’s only your beloved Man U. players who can afford superinjunctions Eli.
We have to rely on people being mature and sensible enough not to post disruptive rumours on here.
If players leave because of a rumour on here then let them go - they were probably going to leave anyway, I cannot see any harm in posting something on here if it has been passed on in good faith and I think both rumours mentioned have legs but they may not happen, I really dont care anymore which player leaves !! Witton carries on and new players arrive and we support them and I suppose with us being a lower budget lower tier club we are going to lose players even more. If we still have the great people on the board ( and supporters ) who are genuine and care and Pritch still around we will be ok, Kearns is a good player and our captain but there must be a level at which we cannot pay him more it is not like he is a 30 goal striker or a dominant midfield playmaker, offer him a fair deal if he chooses to leave so be it - then move on imo
No need to get personal chaps ! Good or not so good I only say it as I hear it !
Eli you have the ability to drop a pebble and create a huge wave. The management team have finished the season on a positive note and could go onto higher clubs.
Our captain has finished the season on a high and will be the at the centre of attention of bigger clubs.Such is the nature of the beast.
I hate to sound limp wristed but we have to be thankful of anybodies time at the club and wish them all the best if they move on.
I was told a couple of weeks ago by a good source about the situation about a couple of players that may be leaving, and also who of the squad were staying and who have yet to decide. As with any club in our league if a player gets a better offer elsewhere they will accept it, (not pritch) that is the nature of the beast. Also there are a number of new players we are to bring into the club which look very good for the squad set up. It looks very promising concerning the names coming in and also those players who have opted to stay on. I was told not to mention it to anyone until all the paperwork was sent to the league and wait for the offical club annoucement. All I can say it looks like we could have a very strong squad and I can’t wait for the new season. Mark and his team have been working hard again to get players in on small budgets, the management team and last seasons players know this and the majority can see that the board are trying to run our club the right way. If a player wants away then I will say thanks for playing for us and good luck in the future. So I await, along with many many of other Witton fans, the Clubs offical announcement, before making comments about who is and isn’t staying.
Perhaps someone could start a thread headed Rumours! then we could look at it or simply ignore it.
Well, I know of at least 1 player that has committed to next season, unless of course the management at WHL comes a knockin. Its not about the money, money, money (isn’t there a song called that?)…SBL
I agree with your sentiments Oddfellow, I go down to the ground and speak to people and am told whats going on, there is no big secrets at Witton, when I am told things I may be asked to keep it to myself for a few days because things need sorting first. The problem is one or two like to be the ones who break the news first even when to most helping out its old news. Sad really
Newcastle Town along with Dave Whittaker !
