Anybody else heard the rumours that have been circulating of late that Macca is going back to Leek?
I have heard it from 2 seperate - unrelated - people now.
If he is all I can say is “More fool him” because he will never find a better club that ours.

Ive heard the rumour as well and also a rumour that Pepe is taking the managers role with HR as his assistant and that Prich is coaching Usain Bolt is sprint techniques! SBL
I do hope that this really is just a silly rumour, we need Macca to maintain some stability for next season.

as far as i am aware macca is staying i spoke to pete riley yesterday macca has just come back off holiday so pritch has been looking after things i think the rumour has come from a former player on facebook
Do we need to take out a “Superinjunction” or do we just sue?

I have spoken to Pete Riley within the last hour and asked him if it was true that Macca had gone. His reply was “Not at the moment.”

It may be worth waiting until something official is announced before comments about Macca and loyalty, we dont really know the circumstances but we will know eventually if anything does happen.

When I mentioned the word “Loyalty” I was not referring directly at Macca but to footballers in general. At ALL levels it appears few footballers know the meaning of the word, an extra “Two bob” and they are off!!

Could not agree more C.J. It’s no longer for the glory that todays players play, just the cash. I don’t blame players going for the best money they can get but it’s when they pretend to care for the club that gets me going, especially when they kiss the badge on their shirt. But we can take consolation in the fact that players may come and go but Witton go on forever thanks to the loyal supporters who are there every week and the little band of helpers who DO know the meaning of the word “Loyalty”.

Interesting twist maybe Carl Mcauley ( ex witton player ) has resigned at Southport and would be available ? and Greg Clowes Has left Newcastle to take over stafford - it seems managerial changes are flavour of the month, dont want to see macca leave but life would go on we would probably miss him more as a player than a manager imo but then he is very young as a manager.
I agree CJ that Macca at this point would be missed more as a player than Manager he’s the forceful midfielder alongside a Rob Lloyd type creative player we need. I hope this is all speculation though and Macca continues to “Get the beers in at Wincham Park Social club”.
I really believe that we are on the verge of being a successful playing club again provided we get the continuity i.e. Macca Pritch partnership with Nige Deeley Coaching, Murph Scouting and Tony Ennion heading up our reserve set up. The latter being the most important if we want to develop our own players!!
Would point out that Carl Macauley is at Vauxhalls and I suspect he might end up at Vics though I think he is friendly with Pritch. If Macca does go and I hope not then Carl would definitly fit the bill for us as would Graham Heathcote. Greg Clowes has done well too but Stafford is a big club if he gets it right there.
Perhaps someone from the boardroom could end all this specualtion as soon as possible though!! Its not fair if this is allowed to drag on especially for those volunteers and fans who have worked so hard recently to raise extra money.Its demorilising and the pre season has’nt even started yet!!
To Macca I would say please stay. You are idolised here by the fans, your popular, you have a great opportunity to become a great football manager with a club that will always be well managed. I appreciate you have an affinity with Leek but you must realise that you have one with Witton albion and we as fans and Mark Harris (the best Chairman in non league) are backing you and Pritch to the hilt to bring us some success on the field. I think we deserve your loyaly provided you not being offered silly money.
If Macca is going to go we need to know now so we can act fast to bring in a new manager as there are people out there who are free Carl and Heathcote already mentioned. Preece can’t be happy at Vics? Danny Johnstone, Garry Lowe, Ken Mckenna there are quite a few on the market. But please above all Macca still stay because you will have the backing of the best boardroom and fans in non league and the potential for our club is good. Remember we own our own ground and ok we might not have much spare cash at the moment but if we get it right on the field we will have, look at the gates when Vince managed us!!
