Macca

Surprise surprise, guess who is trying to sign Macca!

"UniBond League Division One South club Leek Town could be on the verge of loosing fans’ favourite Dave MacPherson after two sides served seven-days notice of approach for the experienced midfielder.

Last week the managers of both Nantwich Town and FC Halifax Town rang Blues’ boss Wayne Johnson to enquire about MacPherson’s situation and he told both that notice of approach would be required.

The manager does not want to lose MacPherson and has discussed the approaches with him. Johnson said, “I have discussed the situation with ‘Macca’ and I’m very keen to keep him on board but now it’s up to him – I hope he stays with us”, he added."

Macca is certainly a player I would like to see in red and white again, but not many can compete with the Halifax cheque book! Although Stoke to Halifax is one hell of a journey for training and games in the middle of winter, and one of the reasons he went to Stafford Rangers (as well as them being in a higher league) was because they were on his doorstep.

I thought when he left Stafford that we should have been in for him and I feel the same way now - Macca’s a good player who could do a very good job for us.

We need Macca back for sure! We can at least make him an offer can’t we? What have we got to lose?

Stone me, that’s twice in a week!!!

I see ex-Vics (and Crewe) defender Richie Sutton has signed for FC Halifax Of Halifax Town too.

Macca has signed for Nantwich, so they say.

so he didnt go 4 the money at halifax. Why the hell did we not make an offer? However small the wage!

With what Danny?

What offer should we have made - ‘2 ollies and a frog’ as they say on Merseyside!

We cannot compete moneywise with Nantwich and Halifax, and as we saw in the Summer, words are cheap. ‘Loyalty’ and ‘love’ for Witton Albion Football Club by anyone other than supporters is bulls**t.

We seem to have assembled a decent competitive squad under Gary and Lee, lets concentrate on backing them to get us out of the relegation places.

Well said Chad. If macca had loved playing for witton that much he would have stayed. Witton are moving forward not going back. Gary and Lee are doing a great job finding quality players prepared to play for a club with little money. Onwards and upwards.

Fair play to him he scored for nantwich today!

Personally i haven’t got anytime for any of those players that left us in the lurch. All there names just leave a sour taste with me.

In fairness Jo, Macca was one of the few who departed with dignity. Following the snake’s departure, and whilst we were managerless, Macca was offered a contract with a club in a higher division, closer to home and for more money! He was out of contract with us and clearly had no idea of what was going to happen at the club, my understanding from Nige at the time was that he conducted himself with good grace.

In fairness rabbit Pritch has been through all sorts of dramas with this club and he has never once walked away. Thats loyalty and the only type of player i want to know about.

You will never get any disagreement over that! Unfortunately I doubt that we will ever see a player with Pritch’s loyalty at the club again, which is sad to say, however good in that I don’t ever expect his appearance record will be broken. In my eyes that could not be more fitting.

Couldn’t agree with you more rabbit (for once) hee hee
