A crowd of 2,018 attended their first-ever competitive game on Saturday afternoon as the Silkmen beat Burscough 1-0 in their opening North West Counties League Premier Division fixture at The Leasing.com Stadium.
No disrespect to Macclesfield but why have they gone straight into the premier division when other teams like FC ISLE of MAN have to start at the bottom and work their way up?
They are a completely new club and should have been treated as such not given special treatment.
