Macclesfield Town vs Witton Albion U21's Development Squad.

Witton’s U21’s look to get back to winning ways again on Sunday afternoon, when they travel to Macclesfield Town in a North West U21 Development League Premier Division fixture. The last two games have seen the lads come away empty-handed after an excellent start to the season but the second of those two, against neighbours Barnton FC gave the management cause for optimism as it showed a marked improvement from the defeat to Tranmere Rovers. The lads go into the weekend programme currently in sixth position in the Premier Division table whilst The Silkmen are a couple of places below in eighth but have only played three games so far. Another tough challenge is to be expected as both teams aim to climb the table. The game is being played at Platt Lane Sports Complex in Manchester, close to the former site of the Manchester City “Maine Road” ground with a 1pm kick off.

Albion equalised in the second half through skipper Jack Samuel’s spot kick to share the points but they needed an excellent performance from goalkeeper Jake Eastwood, who saved a penalty to prevent the young Silkmen taking all three points.

Having played the last 35 minutes with ten men due to Kasie Jones dismissal for his reaction to a late challenge, Witton will be more than happy to come away with a point.
