Management Team extend contracts.

Witton Albion’s management duo of Carl Macauley and Gary Martindale have agreed to extend their contracts with the club for a further two years, running until the end of the 2021-22 season.

Macauley returned to the club as manager in October 2015 after having previously spent two successful years as a player at Wincham Park between 1994 and 1996.

The pair had previously worked together at Vauxhall Motors and Marine before joining as a duo at Wincham Park, helping the club to promotion back into the Northern Premier League Premier Division in 2017 via the play-offs.

News of the extension of their contracts was announced in the Chairman’s statement earlier today which can be read in full here.

John Salmon stated: "I have been in discussions with the Management Team and have been extremely impressed with the way Carl and Gary have coped with the poor hand they were dealt with at the beginning of the season.

“I am delighted to inform you that they have agreed to extend their contracts for a period of two years taking us to May 2022.”

The club is currently crowdfunding to help us through the period affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. If you are in a position to do so and would like to help with a donation, you can do so safely and securely online at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/witton-albion.

Good news about the management staying, hopefully they can keep most of last seasons squad & add a few more and Witton can challenge for the play offs at least.
I agree with an earlier post about keeping the fund raising going as long as possible as it gives people who may be on furlough a chance further down the line to donate when they get back to work.

Yes good news about the management team staying, they have done a good job on a limited budget. I agree to keeping the fund going, may be possible to increase the playing budget?

Some good news at last, ''young ‘’ Hopley should be back as well ! U.T.A.
