manager

Is it a possibility that Pritch could return as manager??? Simmo tweeted that he had spent yesterday afternoon interviewing Pritch and we would find out why later next week. If not manager could he be taking up a different role within the club?

I don’t think Pritch will come back as manager certainly not in the short term but would love him to be back involved with the club in some capacity he has loads of energy and love for our club UTA

The new manager HAS to be someone who has managed at NPL Premier Division or higher or someone who has had a side promoted from the level we find ourselves at.

No ifs no buts, any other appointment would be a cheap option or a gamble, as others have said this last 18 months has been littered with (no doubt well intentioned) mistakes, for goodness sake let’s not see another one.

The Club needs inspiration and lifting and that can only come from an appointment that isn’t - Manager Who?

Protocol, another corporate load of bull, I wonder what deluded self proclaimed fantasist came out with that statement ? probably something to do with budget constraints and financial year end or something equally implausible.
This is becoming boring and ridiculous, what makes it even more pathetic is that the new manager will probably be someone very few people will have heard of and will leave us all feeling flat and depressed even more so than after the last game of the season.
By protocol he means that we haven’t told the unsuccessful applicants that they haven’t got the job.

But glad to see you are so positive about things.

Why is it boring and ridiculous? old manager left two weeks ago. Club said we will announce appointment soon. Announcement coming. What’s boring about that?

God help you for the next month or so when the volunteers at the club are having a well earned break and no news comes out for a while. Or should we make a point of hand delivering some news to you to make sure you aren’t bored.
Well you have your view and I have mine, that’s what happens in a democracy !
However we also get politicians answers and lots of spin, people looking to further their own career on the back of others hard work - lots of talk but never deliver
Why don’t you try and effect change from within. The club are crying out for volunteers right now especially in Communications. We need new people with fresh ideas.

Announcement tomorrow morning confirmed by Andrew Simpson.

After the failed appointment of a manager who has never manger a club of witton’s size in Sully, I’m sure the club would never be so stupid or naive enough to appoint somebody who doesn’t at least have a very good record at the level we are at and some experience at the level we are surely hoping to return to as soon as possible.

I can see us gambling again, we can’t afford the big names it seems !

Jesus I hope that is a joke CJ.

Not a joke at all and I hope we do appoint someone with experience at premier level as Robbo suggests who can sign the players we need to be promoted but I guess we will know tomorrow and then form our own opinions on it - but whoever it is we have to give them a chance but for sure a proven experienced manager will ease concerns all round, I too hope it’s not from the lower levels again !

Still feel that Pritch is going to be involved somewhere along the line. Why would Simmo spend Saturday afternoom interviewing Pritg then saying that he will reveal why later this week

If Pritch is involved on the football front then we have the experience needed !

Nothing to do with the Albs Johno.

Announcement at 11 am.

Gutted :frowning:

Delighted

Dundas is a winner who plays attacking football, get ready for a season of goals and wins UTA
:goal

Sounds good and looking forward to lifting the title in May 2016. :clap :clap

Welcome to the club Scott Dundas! Lets av it UTA :clap :clap

Norton United finished 11th last season in Evo-Stik Division 1 South and scored 113 goals in all competitions.

There will be fun and games they scored 79 and conceded 75 in the league. So Scott has attack in mind!

Not what we were hoping for i guess, but probably what we had come to expect.

I hope the step up from a club like Norton (no dis-respect intended here, but crowds of circa 70 last season) to a club like Witton isn’t too big a leap like it was for Sully.

Managing Witton probably set Sully’s career back a few years, lets hope we are a stepping-stone for Scott rather than a costly mistake.

His preference for attacking football is nice to read, so lets hope he can help to get Titch firing again (if he stays).

Probably the most important appointment we’ve made in a long long time, so fingers crossed it turns out to be the right one.

On the plus side…we should be safe from relegation this season!

I was a little dissapointed at first then I’ve since had a think and taken it all in and I’m getting more positive. The fact is Paul Ogden is involved in the background of all this and he is a guy I’ve got a lot of time for. I presume Scott is still learning his trade as a manager but unlike Sully he will have Oggie to consult when ever any issues crop up he needs help with which can only be good. The Defensive side looks a bit dodgy but scoring loads of goals sounds good. Lets hope he can work on the defensive side of thins and maybe improve that but I like the attacking philosophy. I also hope he can keep the right players we know about and bring in others that can do the job. I know he had a striker called Lee Cropper who scored 18 goals last season so presumeably he might come on board. I think Scott is potteries based so obviously thats a region where we’ve had some good players from in the past so lets hope we can move forward and get back up quick!! Willing to give the lad a chance anyways and looking forward to meeting you Scott.
