Witton travel to Merseyside on Saturday afternoon when they take on strugglers Marine AFC in an Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture. The Mariners find themselves in 22nd place going into the weekend games despite having one of the league’s most prolific marksmen in Danny Mitchley. During our time together in the Cheshire League Marine tended to be a bogey team where Witton were concerned, particularly under long-standing former Manager Roly Howard but in recent seasons that trend has changed somewhat. This weekend 's fixture sees a number of Albion players returning to face a former club as well as current management team Carl Macauley & Gary Martindale so they will know everything about their former employers. At the same time, former Witton manager Tony Sullivan will be amongst the home side’s coaching staff. Witton go into the game with the Play offs still a realistic prospect but with games coming thick and fast in the latter end of the season Witton will be looking to keep up the chase for a top five spot. Marine have already suffered eleven defeats in front of their own fans so will be looking for a change of fortune on Saturday. Kick off at The Marine Travel Arena is 3pm.
