Marine vs Witton Albion.

Witton make the trip to Merseyside on Thursday night when they take on Marine in a re arranged Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture. The original fixture fell victim to the weather around a fortnight ago. The Crosby-based club have shown a big improvement over recent weeks as they climb away from the lower reaches of the table., winning six of their last games and each of their last three away games. With teams beating each other in the last few weeks, Witton still look to reach the play offs but the prospect of achieving that is slimmer now than it was but still not impossible. Marine will provide Witton with a very tough examination as they did earlier in the season when the points were shared in a 1-1 draw. Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, Witton have given it a real go and no doubt will continue to do so as the campaign nears its conclusion. Kick off at The Marine Travel Arena is 7.45pm.

There is a new road, that bypasses the route down through Netherton, Litherland and Bootle. However, you can only get on it if you approach Switch Island from the end of the M57. You need to get in the central lane at the end of the M57, and you go straight across Switch Roundabout onto the new A5758 (this road is quite new, and is yet to appear on many satnavs). At the 2nd junction is a roundabout, with Moor Lane to the left, and the A565 to Southport on the right. Turn left onto Moor Lane, and travel down through Thornton to Great Crosby. At the centre of Great Crosby, Moor Lane becomes the A565 and veers sharply off to the left towards Liverpool. You need to go straight on here, and take the next left down Coronation Road. After about 800yards, you come to a set of traffic lights. Turn left here on to College Road, and the ground is on the right.
