Albion second string learned the important of concentration as they were picked off by a very well equipped Lancaster outfit. It was albion who created the first opening with Jamie Harrison who was spurred by the opposition keeper, Lancaster then imposed there selves early and went ahead on 20mins with a wonder strike for the Lancaster striker Joe Bunney, Lancaster continued to dominate possession but to no avail. HT 0-1
The second half began with much of the same and Lancaster we rewarded again this time with poor defending on 50mins which lead to the goal, 0-2. Witton then sprang into action with sub Dave Roberts and Shaun Weaver pressing well won the ball and Weaver raced clear to make it 1-2, 60 seconds later it was the same combination and it ended with weaver rounding the keeper and slotting home for 2-2. A golden opportunity was then missed by Tierney to put albion ahead and from the resulting break Witton conceded a third goal 2-3. Impressive Hindley went close for albion before Lancaster added a fourth, Albion still punched forward and again went close 15mins from time for swann to be denied by the city keeper again. Albion looked to be tired and demoralized and conceded 2 goals in the last 5mins to end a disappointing start to the new campaign for the second string. FT Score WAFC 2-6 LCFC
