Well have we or have we not signed a keeper ? Keeper called Vernon was on the bench after the Carlton game but not seen him since. Last night was an important game with big money at stake so IMO a goalie on the bench would have been a good investment ( probably £50 or £60 ). Not up to me to make these decisions only to criticise and moan.
It sounds like last nights match will go down as a great in our history. What a shame it had to end so cruel.I feel we would have given Kidderminster one hell of a game.Fair play to Matlock,i thought they looked like a team with plenty of know-how.Kidderminster will certainly have to earn their win at Causeway Lane.
The Trophy campaign more than makes up for our early exit from the FA Cup.I thought that game against Congleton caught us all cold footed.Imagine if we could start our FA cup crusade now.
I find myself in a similar position to Yorkshire Red.This morning,my wife forced me to sign a lengthy document prohibiting me from making derisory comments about the referee.
Regards a substitute keeper I do think it would have been wise to have had one on the bench on Tuesday, when you consider the £4k prize money at stake and the revenue from then the home tie it would be a gamble worth making financially. The reality is that I don’t think a replacement keeper would have performed any better than Pritch did (he was immense), but going to a back three of Pritch, Ruffer and Rudd may have made us more solid at the back.
All great in hindsight after the event I still think that what undid us more was the change in formation.
Still very proud of the way that the lads performed and above all this was a victory in itself, coming back from 3-1 down with 10 men away from home on a s**t pitch against higher league opposition.
We have arranged to have Pritch stuffed and mounted as a centre peice in the Museum, cant think of a more fitting end to such an illustrious career! over to the Dodger/Eli combo!
Poor Pritch, surely to avoid him having to be stuffed wouldn’t a Bronze bust suffice? Or a photo of that overhead kick against Sheffield! Nice to see the comments on Matlock’s forum regarding the legend!
