Matlock Town vs Witton Albion.

Witton make the trip to the picturesque setting of Matlock on Saturday in an Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture. The Gladiators are currently in the lower half of the table and having an inconsistent season so far but always provide tough opposition. Last season saw them finish in the top-ten and they will certainly be looking to improve on their present position over the coming months. Despite their lack of consistency, they do possess one of the league’s in-form strikers in the shape of the much-travelled Shaun Harrad who needs watching constantly. The Albion also have players in form at present notably Steven Tames, who has taken his total to eighteen for the season recently. Witton’s away form has been impressive in recent weeks especially against the top teams but, they will not be underestimating their opponents who are capable of beating anyone on their day. The return fixture earlier in the season proved entertaining and saw the points shared but Witton will look to build on that away form, as they try to put pressure on the teams above as they go in search of the play offs. Kick off at the DCJ Group Insurance Arena is 3pm.

Just doing that now and it’s not cocoa.

At last we have a full squad to select from. Some tough decisions to be made by Carl, which i am sure he will relish. I will go for a 3-1 victory for Witton to keep up the progress we are making in a season that has seen us having the momentum taken from us with postponements.uta

Even with a full squad it might be easier to pick with the team playing so well recently, I would not change the back 4 tbh although Gards in at right back is an option and Maybe leaving out Jones with Tames partnering Hopley is possibly stronger up front leaving a midfield of Foley, Heywood, Owens and Dale and a really strong bench good luck whoever plays UTA
