Just doing a bit of housekeeping and design changes to the message board. Although no downtime is expected apologies in advance if this means certain parts of this do not work during the next 24 hours. Trying to complete some of these tasks before the season kicks off and the message board traffic increases.

We need some live testing of the new message board to see if there are any problems!!! Can you please reply to any posts that interest you so that we can get some user experience and traffic. If you have any problems or opinions on the new layout please post them here.

Hi Stu, am aware of the main site link being missing, just trying to butcher the code as the menus are all built from php pulling in the sections - this maybe a job for you tomorrow!!!
The reply and notify reply buttons are working for me, can you keep trying and testing!

Great new look guys - but please can we have the "previous/next" buttons re-instated so that we can scroll through the messages rather than going back to the front page?
I’ll add that to the list Eddie - it does not appear that forward and back is a standard offering in this new template but will certainly check it out.

ye definately liking the new forum layout! looks better integrated with the main site but like eddie has already said the previous and next buttons are a sore miss! haha but hopefully shall be corrected soon otherwise im likin it!
Thanks for the initial comments please keep them coming! The reason for the change is to make the board ‘cleaner’ in layout, look more like the main site and to incorporate new features. We are now using the latest version of the software and a brand new template - with this hopefully will come the chance to introduce more new features as we go. This message board is already way ahaead of some football league clubs!!!
Known issues being looked into;
The addition of ‘Previous’ & ‘Next’ links to move backwards and forwards to topics (Thanks Eddie)
In IE if you go back from a list of messages to the boards menu the top heading of ‘First Team’ disappears. If you hit the refresh key (F5) it comes back!!! If this really annoys you then use Firefox as a browser which is widely accpeted to be less prone to errors than IE!
If you use the links under the log-in to show unread or show replies it brings up an annoying horizontal scroll bar for a second, need to widen the width of this area and stop this from happening. Affects nothing but does not need to happen!
Need to fix the Avatars ‘profile images’ as many of these do not display. You should however be able to now upload a new image of your own that will work. Please try this and feedback. (I have added an image of the stand on the left and personalized text beneath it).

I will continue to look at the known issues however the functionality of the board, the ability to post and read messages all appears to be working fine.

Full marks to the development of the site, however I did prefer the previous front page, the one with the songs and pictures of players on the top. Looked very impressive and in my opinion better than this page. Not only have we the best team but we might have the website, well done to all involved.

That is still the main site at www.wittonalbion.co.uk these are just the forum pages. One of the missing items is a link in the top navigation to take you back to the main site. We are working on that and also working on the header, if we can make it some the same header will work on the forum and the main site we will do (I agree it would be a smarter solution).

Stu - may require some of your expertise at some point on these issues. This is where your skills completely dwarf mine (there is agag there somewhere about size). Be prepared to get called upon. We are breaking things at the moment whilst traffic levels are low - the functionality is working generally however there are few layout issues!
