Mickleover Sports vs Witton Albion.

Witton begin a mini tour of Derbyshire when they travel to Mickleover Sports on Tuesday night in a re arranged Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture, the original fixture being postponed due to the weather earlier in the season. Sports are involved in a battle to avoid relegation but, they have managed to put a gap between themselves and the bottom two in recent weeks particularly with a crucial win at bottom club Workington AFC last week. They have had the knack of producing results at critical times in the season as Witton can testify, following their success at Wincham Park earlier in the campaign. Away victories at play-off chasing Nantwich Town and Scarborough Athletic, have helped their cause and they are certainly in a “stronger” position now than they might have been. Witton go into the game off the back off a win against another relegation candidate Workington AFC at the weekend and will be seeking their ninth victory on the road in the hope of a top ten finish. The season is now reaching its conclusion and teams still have a lot to play for with promotion and relegation issues still far from decided. With the Easter period approaching, things will start to become a little clearer. Witton’s aim will be to finish as high as they can starting with a very tough challenge at Mickleover where they will be tested and will need to be at their best to come away with anything. Kick off at The Don Amott Arena is 7.45pm.
