Can’t see it as being anything other than a meaningless game given other priorities. If MCFA wanted a proper game it should have been rescheduled to the start of next season. I know the 1874 lot would complain, but at least it would be competitive with a decent gate which this won’t be on either count.
Worth spending 5p to defend my club against lies and rumour spreading from all the idiots on your forum but in future i will do it on here , sad but i guess you need every 5p you can get lol.
Back when I started watching the Albs in the mid 1980’s this was a big cup to win, Northwich bragging rights and loads of wittoners and V*cs fans used to go to the games at the Central Ground and the Drill Field they were usually packed out. This was of course before the play station/xbox era and everyone choosing a premier league football club to watch on tv rather than supporting their local non league club. The choices weren’t there then.
Nowadays we have to be realistic and move with the times. Sad, but no way should we risk any of our first team for this game. I’d love us to put 1874 back in their box but we have much bigger fish to fry. Give the development squad a well earned run out.
No doubt that this match is the last thing you need at the moment - the problem of having a successful season on many fronts. Yes, with your full team out, we would be very long odds to beat you!
With 1890 still chasing promotion I doubt they will “Go for it” either.

Apparently, Carl has told Andrew Simpson that first team players WILL play in the Semi Final on Thursday night.
I hope that it is really only fringe first teamers ! we already have Danny, Mattie and Brad out injured ! I would hope none of the start 11 from last night are involved at all that would be bonkers. Their are not many Wittoners going anyway they can have it.
A total waste of time and resources - I wouldn’t even put the floodlights on ! First goal wins and all go home. If the plastics want it that badly do an own goal and all go home. save the energy for better days
Totally agree this is a needless distraction from our push for promotion. We cannot risk any injuries in a game of no consequence.

From what I have been told from people who attend 1874 games the standard of football played this season is woeful. Maybe the ‘C’ Team will fancy turning the plastics over.

I would be disappointed if we used any first team players - but Carl may choose to ! I dont care, really no interest in the cup or watching a plastic club at a terrible ground to watch any football at.
@wittonalbionfc manager Carl Macauley also confirmed first-team players will be involved in cup meeting with @1874Northwich on Thursday.
I suspect we have to show that we are fielding a reasonable team to uphold the spirit of the competition, but given the team we played Tue night, I suspect it maybe Tol, Ryan Hickman and a couple of others who perhaps need some game time ?
