I wonder if Vics will play this time?

This competition always throws up some massive fixtures…
bl##dy hell, could have been worse, like middlewich away.
Or Runcorn away
Could we not turn out the Supporters Team? They would surely win.

WTF are we entering this competition again? Noones interested in it. Its just potentially another 3 games to fit in, with the prospect of injuries and suspensions.
We enter because we should, we are THE Mid-Chesire Club. We should, however, use it as a training match and give fringe players a game, and yes, even some of the Supporters Team who are up to it, all of them if what I read on this site is accurate!!!

waste of time this competition in my opinion

the same reason why witton fans come on our forum now and again to have a bit of banter why else
Absolutely no benefit to this competition whatsoever, other than a chance of a mid season friendly to try out some of the younger players in a competitive game.
The only way this would have any interest every year if it were to be a one-off cup game between two teams, Witton and V***. Whilst still of little importance compared to the 37 weeks of league football at least it would attract a good crowd and as such bring commercial opportunities. They could alternate the ground it was played on annually. I can’t think of any other was that this would become more interesting.
I’m not be disrespectful to the other local teams but it simply carries no weight. It probably costs as much to stage the games as the prize money for winning it, and with the risks of injuries and suspensions.
Whilst overstating it a little it would be like Liverpool competing in a tournament with Vauxhall and Prescot, hardly going to be treated as a priority in their schedule.
Whoever suggested a Final between us and Vics may have come up with a good idea, only instead of alternate venues why not Home and Away. I am almost sure both games would get good gates, better than usual in their respective leagues if it was played at the beginning or the end of the season.

I played in the early stages of the comp years ago, to a bloke in his 20’s who’s never been coached and has to pay a signing on fee plus ££’s subs per week to keep his team afloat, the chance of winning through to play against a team of Witton or Vi*s level on their pitches is a massive incentive and a cup final in itself.
NOW, I would PAY per minute to play in that
Like a few people have said a waste of time but in away come be good to see the players that arent getting in the 1st time yet, or possable a chance for some of the Supporters team to get a try out? hint hint:P
Did you let Nige Nut write that?!?
You also have to realise what the Mid Cheshire F.A does with the revenue from these matches.
Some people take it for granted that when their son plays in an under 11’s cup final that the hire of the pitch, the officials travelling expenses, the cost of the medals, and the cost of the trophy all grows on trees.
It is the growth in grassroots football from all ages, and both sexes that requires these matches to generate funds to cover these expenses.
In that case it is more important athn ever that the Final is played between Witton and Vics because it is the only game that would generate any real revenue, and two games are better than one!!
