I’m not sure if this is the right section of the forum to post this but I feel that it is something of great relevence and importance, although not directly connected to our football club.
On Sunday, 26th May, our Assistant Manager and legend Mike Moseley will take part in the BUPA Manchester 10Km run to raise funds for The Polycystic Kidney Disease Charity. This is something that is very close to the hearts of Mike & his family, as his 10 year old daughter Ella Rose has been monitored with the condition from the age of one year old. At this moment in time, there is no cure or treatment for this condition and it does not receive any government funding. The condition progresses with age and is life-threatening in most cases, a lot of sufferers needing transplants in later life.
I am posting this with Mike’s full approval in order to help him raise as much money as he can to enable the charity to provide information, research & wherever possible treatment in order to provide sufferers with a quality of life. Mike has set up his own fundraising page through Justgiving on facebook but as a lot of supporters don’t use facebook, I decided to provide the information on here so that our fans can give support to a Witton legend and this very worthy cause.
Just to let everyone know, Mike completed the 10Km course in a time of 49.11 minutes earlier today and his fundraising efforts have so far materialised a total of £2265.00 for the Polycystic Kidney Disease Charity. This amount has put Mike in the top five places for monies raised for this very worthwhile cause.
Just a quick message to again say THANKYOU for all your support you gave me, in my 10k run for my daugters charity. I eventually raised around 2.5k which i am very proud of. The charity was delighted with the response i got and i would estimate over 50% of the money raised came from you wittoners. Again you have showed great generousity to me and my family and i really appreciate it.
To the people who i havent thanked personally as money was passed to me through other people and also to all who contributed to Graham Edgeleys whip round… Thanks.
See you in August, keep up the great support to the lads on the pitch, we’re all in it together.
