According to the Morpeth Town match summary, there was a Witton Albion supporter doing a “Gypsy King” impersonation. Any ideas?
I’ve been at today’s game and considering the Witton fans there today were John & Pauline Spruce, Reg & Judith, Alan Spruce, Chris Renshaw’s dad & Josh Wardle’s dad, this is a very strange comment by Morpeth. Did they say that their physio got sent off for running on the pitch and hitting Danny McKenna after the final whistle, causing a 22 man punch up and both benches getting involved. The referee was shocking for both sides he lost control of the game after 5 mins when Morpeth’s 9 elbowed Josh Wardle in the face. Having said that we weren’t good enough today simple as that.
I wasn’t expecting much from the trip to be honest and in having virtually 3 new players starting in the 11, it was a tough place to go. Let’s hope the manager sees sense and puts out a strong team on Tuesday if it’s not rained off ?
C.J., I don’t think we have too many options other than putting a strong team out, only had 15 players today with 2 keepers and Short missing with illness, that is our full squad.
