Robbo, that’s a great idea! I was thinking along similar lines earlier tonight.
Lets Not.
Move on and have a Warlow/Crowe etc watch.
Well said Andy, lets move on.
We’ll be watching Warlow and Crowe etc every Saturday, nothing wrong in also keeping an eye on one of the few legends to grace the red and white in recent seasons. Liverpool still follow the activities of Daglish, United still revere Busby, Cantona and Best. And only the other day, there was a discussion on here regarding Ken Barnes.
Moving on does not mean that we have to forget the past, and there is no harm in keeping an eye on what Super Mike gets up to in the coming few months. I’m sure he’ll be keeping an eye on Witton also.
well said robbo and well done Mike
You can take the player out of the club, but you can’t take the club out of the player.
Fullt undestand the interrest ansd support for MIKE, But not for Bradford PA FC.
Move on and get behind the Albion
It’s not a case of moving on, that’s already happened hence we spent saturday afternoon in oatcake land. It’s a case of saying thank you to a guy who is a genuinely top bloke and who holds Witton Albion in very high regard. And on a personal level he made the effort to come and play for the supporters team and gave us a day we will all talk about for a long time, so it’s the least we could do to show our appreciation.
I dont think that it is right to have a go at the fans that hold MM in high esteem (and rightly so), Their support for the WAFC club is uneffected and personally I have no problem with having updates about his progress posted on this site under Other Teams section
Thanks ME, it’s good to see that someone has some common sense rather than just mouthing off.
The group of people who will be going to support Mike are the same people who will be going to every single Witton home game, home and away, and the very same people who Mike came to see and play alongside to show his thanks for OUR SUPPORT.
We are also the same people who make up songs, sing and shout our hearts out every week, play for Witton Albion Supporters FC and have been training with Jim and Nigel recently as thanks for OUR SUPPORT.
So to suggest that we are not behind the Albion is insulting as much as it is ridiculous.
And so concludes another Greenie rant…
Greenie, I was not having a go as you put it at anyone who follows how Mike is doing, I myself am interested to see how he is going on and will keep a look out for his name on the goal scoring charts each week. I simply stated that I fully understood the support for Mike Mossley but not for BPA and the ex Witton players who were lured away by cash… Being a lifelong supporter of WAFC I remember many favourites that have moved on to pastures new with great fondness and respect, indeed my user name "Henderson is magic" is a tribute to one of my all time favourite sons of the Albion.
The difference is that Peter Henderson moved to a then First division side in order to progress, as did many others such as Mark Leonard, Neil Parsley, Mike Whitlow and only last season we saw Sean Whalley take the opportunity to try his luck at a higher level.
What I criticised was the players who made a retrograde step to a club in a lower division purely for money, that in my book shows no respect for WAFC and the efforts of its fans, we, you , I supported these players with everything last season and they let us down for a few extra quid.
Indeed one of them for the second time in two seasons !
I give my support and cash to WITON ALBION not BPA.
Mike I wish the best to as we know he given the choice would have been here with us this season, the others im afraid have lost my respect and we should move on.
I agree with ME. Rant on boys, you are the future of the Albion. We will all be looking at Bradfords fortunes for whatever reasons.
There has been no mention of support for any of the other players to move on to not-bigger and not-better things. The reason we are keeping an eye on Mike is as much for the fact that he is a top quality boke as anything else.
However, of the players that left i think there were a few who weren’t really in Jim’s plans anyway so - although now they’ve moved on they wont be getting my support - it’s unfair to brand them all as greedy money grabbers. The likes of Ali Brown, Chris Gaghan, and possibly Hockenhull, weren’t really established first-team players so if they want to drop down a league with the hope of coming up next season, then i think that is their choice. Both are young enough to take a step back, inorder to take a couple of steps forward in the long-run.
There are 2 players who i think have just done it for the money. The same 2 players who should of been looking to move up a league - with or without Witton - and not down. Yes one left us last season aswell, so i think that shows his character. The other player is the one i am most disappointed with as i think he could of been another Witton legend had he held the club - and the fans that gave him alot of support - in any regard, and also shown any respect. But again that shows his character, and therefore i’m not overly concerned that he has gone. Taking into account that for the run-in last year both players missed alot of games through either injury and suspension, then i think we will do just fine without them.
I’m slightly concerned that I actually agree with you Robbo!
First time for everything mate :o
Robo
Agree with everything you said.
Have had my say, got it iff my chest so wont mention it again.
Bring on the new season and lets enjoy
