Mossley AFC v. Witton Albion

Admission Prices confirmed as follows:

Adults: £10, Concessions/OAP’s/Students: £6, 16-17 Year Olds: £3, Under 16’s: £1.

Witton travel to Mossley AFC on Saturday afternoon in a re arranged Northern Premier League West Division fixture. The original fixture was postponed in December to the weather.

Witton go into the game in search of three more crucial points against one of their rivals for the play off positions, but will go into the encounter in confident mood following an excellent point at runaway leaders Macclesfield FC in midweek.

The return fixture at the U Lock It Stadium saw the Lilywhites claim all three points in a 2-0 win, so Witton will be looking to avenge that result.

Mossley under the guidance of former Albion goalkeeper David Fish, currently sit fourth in the table nine points ahead of Albion but having played two games more so it will be a tough test for Jon Macken’s team.

From the thirteen league games played at Seel Park, Mossley’s record is strong having won seven drawn four and losing only two.

The goalscoring form of Mason Fawns has been instrumental in their success so far but, they also have the experience of midfielder Andy Keogh, who seems to have been around for a long time.

Witton will need to be somewhere close to their best if they are to come away with anything from somewhere that is always a difficult place to go.

Kick off at The Totalrope Solutions Stadium is 3pm.

That’s another very good away point for the Albs Mossley are a pretty good team. UTA

Reading the Mossley Twitter account, it look as though we were really up against it alot of the time.

A real backs to the wall job.

Another battling performance from Witton, they scored from a back pass to Ollie but a great header from Ben to equalise second half.

We had our backs to the wall a few times but worked very hard to keep them out, we could have scored at the end but a great save from their keeper kept the ball out.

Well done Witton.

Good point away from home against a team higher in the table. Hope we can get cover for Conner whilst he is out as his goals will be missed.

Should have had a penalty 1st half after Duckworth was pushed in the back going for a ball in the box, but overall well worth a point for a really battling display on a difficult sloping pitch.
